Thread: Did I get taken?
That said, I won'r comment on the price but he should have told you up front that you were only going to get 6 items. Even when I make a droid that will store 10 items I make sure to tell people before hand so they aren't assuming it will store 50 items and be disappointed. Likewise I make sure people getting data modules know they only store schematics.
While it is the buyers responsibility to be informed it is also the seller's responsibility to make sure they are informed.
No, you weren't taken.
You failed to specify your exact requirements. That is not the engineers bad, that is in your ball court. There are two sindes in communication, the speaker and the listener. As the speaker, the owness is on you to insure your point was made. It is the listeners responsibility to listen with intent and ask for cvlarification when they are unsure.
And the price seems reasonable to me.
=D
Gah, I feel like Madcat here or something, but are you guys/gals seeing that he bought just a Standard Le Repair droid and paid 30K for that?
Sorry, that is Way too high compared to what most of the top masters on Intrepid are charging for that range of Droid. Std. Le Repair only has two general sockets, requires No specific resources, No advanced parts, No factory parts, and is only a BluePrints 3 requiring 400 resources .
If you can get 30K for that, thats you're deal I guess, but I've priced out many my peer's shops and even the high ones don't sell for that much. Or was there a Droid Union meeting I wasn't told about to fix prices?
if the droid was a r2 adv i could have all that with lvl 4 mods. and i sell those for 28k....so maybe a little
First of all, I am BH who visits this DE forum all the time in order to see when you guys will get fixed and hopefully be able to make nice kickass Battledroids so my knowledge about droids is very limitted. However, last monday I bought an R2 droid (intrepid server) with: clothing/armor crafting station, medical chip (110 to medic), repair module, storage module and a data module for 20k. I dont know how it goes, but I think I got a good price for my droid. I do not have the 10 for storage but hey, got 5 modules intead.

Well, I would say yes and no.
You did get what you asked for which was a droid with item storage. If someone asks me to make one for them and does not specify capacity, I usually build the best single lvl item storage module I can make.
As for price, you got jipped on both your droids. Your lil' R5, I usually sell the exact same droid for 8200 and the LE with that exact storage, medical rating and desired crafting station for only 10100. My advice to you is to shop around next time. Check out all the droid shops on the global map and talk to your in game friends about how much their droids run them. Also, be speciffic when ordering a droid. make sure you specify every detail from storage capacity, medical rating AND armor to make sure you get what you desire.
Could someone please explain to me why using a socket cluster in a general service module is a bug? This seems perfectly normal to me. In fact I think it actually says that it fits general sockets. It's really simple, The Socket Cluster IS a general service module, that happens to accept more modules. If the reason people think its a bug is because some schematics have a slot specifically for the socket cluster, to me that means that it's just being more specific, kind of like requiring Extrusive Ore instead of just general Ore.
I don't see this as a bug, in fact, I would be very dissapointed if it worked any differently than it does currently. Just my opinion.

It is almost a certainty that he purchases and Advanced LE Repair droid. Consider that the person making it was not an MDE but somehow got the Medical Rating to 110 and the Storage to 6 items. While it is possible he had a Med VI module crafted by another DE it is more likely that he simply used 2 Med IV modules and one storage IV module. That's 3 modules which would require an Advanced LE (if memory serves me correctly. SWGCraft is down and the game is being patched so I can't check).
It is possible that the DE used a General Service Module Cluster, but at that point he could have used two, one in each slot and the droid would have had 110 Medical and 10 item storage, so I find that unlikely.

It is a bug because otherwise it actually makes a R2 unit -less- effective than an R4, which I am sure everyone can agree is wrong.
The reason it does this is because an R4 has 2 general service module slots. If those accept General Service Module Clusters than your R4 can be loaded with up to 6 modules (not including nesting exploits). An R2 on the other hand can only accept a single GSMC, limiting it to 3 modules.

...I can't say I buy that as an answer.
You say 'Why is it a bug'?
I say, 'Because it obviously is working in a way not intended (making R4 units more powerful than R2 units)'.
You say 'I can't accept that as the answer. They should alter the schematics for other droids'.
Why can't you accept it? Is there a flaw in the logic? I point out that this appears to be what they intended because it makes sense. If they alter how this one thing works then what they have created has a certain logical consistency. Your response is you can't accept that answer and that they should alter the stats on all the droids.
Which seems more likely, that the function of a module is off (GSMCs going into General Service Module slots) or that the stats on most of the droids is messed up?
As for your suggestion that they just give the better droids more module sockets, let's see how that plays out. Since you have the ability to put 1 module into an R5, how many modules would you need to put into an Advanced R3 to keep progression between the various models (assuming you gain a single module per 'step up').
R5 - 1 module
R4 - 2 modules
R2 - 3 Modules
R3 - 4 modules
Advanced R3 - 5 modules.
Hmmm....So I load all those slots up with GMSCs; 15 modules in a single droid. Nope. Doesn't seem like an acceptable solution.
