Thread: REQUIRED READING: Centralized Droid Issues (23/09/03 10:00pm PST)
I didn't see it posted but I think there should be a "balance" section in there...
I'll take this under consideration and see if I've room for this section.
Add this to the wish list please.
Binary Load Lifters Given the ability to Move Buildings, like factional Bases, PA Halls, Persoal Houses, WITHOUT having to Re-deed the structures, I'm Not saying Harvestors as they do need some $$ sinks, but allow people to restructure their PA cities, or be able to move their belongings without having to buy a second house and spend hours moving items from one place to another. Have Binary Load Lifter have in inventory slot for 1 Icon, the icon would look like the stucture, then when ready to unload the structure have 'Unload' Appear on the radial menu of the structure icon.
I think this is likely one of the skills the town mayor/politician will have. They will be able to rearrange the buildings in a city. Maybe to do that they have to usea BLL? Now that's an idea....

On the topic of Probots & attack droids:
We're NOT going to see Droidekas until we see a cert system in place for droids... Guranteed. Why? Anyone can have a Probot... Anyone can have a non-aggressive pet under L15... Not everyone can have a Rancor... Not everyone should have a Droideka either...
I fully agree that we need more attack droids, but for right now, the Probot is about on average to a non-CH pet... Sure the HAM sucks on 'em, but how many non-CH pets have you seen with Medium 40% armor? If you consider most things that a non-CH would fight solo (with Light or No armor piercing) the Probot's measily 800-ish HAM lasts a long while. My only complaint with the probot... For the love of god, let us heal their damage!

Last night i was in a fight with 2 Vicious Huf Duns. My pet probot was tanking them when all of the sudden in mid battle Probot stored itself, I got the group has been disbanded message, and found myself staring at 2 angry huf duns. Needless to say this is not an acceptable bug, and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Maybe it wasnt abug and driods are become to develope a sense of self awareness, I had one take off in the oppistie direction once when a Squill was attacking me. As I was incapped I could have swornI heard him snicker.
The even bigger problem with Probots is there's no way to "heal" them. You can stim a pet, tell it to do tricks, and they even added Pet Stims so CH folks wouldn't have to take Medic. If you're careful with a pet you can keep it alive for a long, long time. All you can do with a Probot is watch it get incapped. =)
Gah, hit the button too soon. =)
To continue, damage output isn't as meaningful because most non-CH folks simply use pets to tank for them. So even if a Probot can soak up as much damage as a CL15 pet the inability to heal them makes them much, muchless useful than pets.
The latest TC notes said something about a new Droid Repair Kit schematic, but one poster here already said they didn't see it. =(
"K.Multiple crafting stations in a single droid breaks the crafting modules in the droid. Only one of the modules seems to work when this happens."
Umm, based on the in game descriptionin the droid crafting modules schematic granting skill boxes, I think this is how it's suppose to work.
+Weapon Droid Crafting Station Module
"This module is used to grant the droid the ability to function as a private weapon crafting station. **Adding more then crafting module of the same type has no additional effect**" (All crafting module skill box descriptions are the same)
I always read that as, you can add multiple modules of the same type to increase the effectiveness of that type of crafting module. You can not add different crafting modules, or they will have no effect..
*shrug* Maybe I'm wrong..
~Met (I added the astericks..)
"Adding more than one crafting module of the ***same type*** has no additional effects" means that more than one of the same type of crafting module will have no additional effect (it will not make it more effective). It does not, however, say that multiple types of crafting modules should not work.
It's definitely a bug (unless you're not supposed to be able to add more than one type of crafting module, in which case it's a bug that we can).

I will definitely agree that the wording is suspect and that it can thus be taken both ways. Kudos for seeing a new interpretation.
There is another problem if this interpretation is true. Name 6 service modules that can be used by the advanced R3, without stacking. I say without stacking since level 6 modules cannot be improved upon by stacking and ispointless.
Currently, I can only think of 5 (Medical, Item, Data, Crafting, Repair).
Gee I hope the Droid Engineer profession gets on the top of the list for fixes after the developers are ready to start dealing with issues of this type. I really think that adjusting this profession will greatly help the game as a whole. Functions like having droids that could tend to harvesters and droids that could deliver things to people would be awesome. Maybe they could design it so your droid can deposit items purchased from another player into the customer's bank directly. Everything on your list would make droids so much better and help the game feel a LOT more Star Warsy
