Thread: Some math for those of you screaming unnerf the probots...
First, as everyone who isn't a CH knows (and you should) the toughest creature is a Cowardly Gurreck, which has a HAM of 3200 and 150-160dmg.
This is BETTER then a pre-nerf Probot ever was.
And I'm sorry, as others pointed out - that you don't understand the current situation of armor at all.
I guess I'm one of the people "screaming" to unnerf the Probots, and your post (admittedly by a CH) is biased and slanted because you don't want the market to be shared.
To put it bluntly, it was stolen from us and given to you. I am in no way one of the people asking for CH's to be nerfed, in fact I have been an ardent defender of your profession since launch. However, to not acknowlege the simple facts here and use misinformation to sway people to avoid the logical conclusion is silly.
They took a function of a crafted object from a crafting class under the guise of balance and that "everyone can own one", and gave it to a combat class that can sell them "to anyone". They cut down our business by a factor of 10 for some of us, and gave it to a combat class instead.
It makes no sense, and neither do your arguments.

The Ar2 means nothing.. i have a prenerf probot with level 1 armor (12% all resists 3100HAM) and i made an advanced probot 2 level 4 armors ( AR2 40% all resists) just to see which one would take some damage and to like rotate through them as they get damaged... and what i found out is.. the adv probot died in 4 hits.. while the old prenerf one took a hell of a beating.. its almost as if even the resists barely work as well... the AR just doesnt cut it with the droids...

Not to be defender of the CH, but a Cowardly Gurreck has less armor than the Rock Beetle, which makes the the Rock Beetle a better pet (1000 different in health, but the damage dif is almost neglible). I have both, the Rock Beetle is a better tank, actually quite a bit better.
That being said, DE's have been royally screwed on the combat droid issue. We have the equal to someone running around with a Diseased Bocatt as a pet (actually, I think a regular probot would be owned by a diseased bocatt). SInce a probot seems to be our biggest selling point, that is pretty pathetic. Right now they are ONLY good for backup damage to a pet tanking the critter. Something has got to be done or there will be no more droids in SWG,all the DE'swill give up.
I am perfectly happy with my probot's armor.. I do agree they need to get a way to heal them back up some.. Maybe a roll of DuctTape or something..
And UN-NERF the probot weapon! I have a bug that can take just about as much damage, and dishes out 150-160 itself.. There is no reason that the current probots can't dish out that much as well. To me it would be considered equal to a Mountain Krevol or Rock Beetle.

Sorry, but a prenerf with 40% resists HAS ARMOR, otherwise it would be 0%.
------------------------------
Sorry but you are wrong. Armor wasnt working during the prenerf period of probots, so it doesnt matter what armor it had... you could put armor inthem butin the end it was just displaying a value that wasn't actual working. Armor for droids wasn't functional until well after the nerf, as anyone who was a DE during this period knows. How quickly we forget...
I dont know why people are always so concerned about HAM on probots.
I make them with max armor (med 40%resists) and took on a mountain squill with one just to see. Squill incapped me and the entire minute and a half i was incapped, the probot lasted with the squill. Max armor does quite a bit of good for them and makes them extremely tough little guys. He may have low HAM but hell sit there and take a beating while I do the real damage.
Some of us aren't. We want more damage than a CDEF pistol. x2 would be nice.
If face, I'd support increasing the ADV probot damage to 100 on a temporary basic until whatever permanent solution(cert system, more droids, etc) they decide on is released. In fact, I wouldn't mind them lowering the damage back to it's current values AFTER they release the new system.
More damage is definitely needed for the Probots, especially the advanced models. The slight difference in HAM (810 in Probot vs 820-825 in Adv. Probot) is a joke but it shows there is something different in the code for the two versions other than just mod options and an extra armor slot. More powerful attacks on advanced and more bonus for experimentation (beyond the measly few point HAM increase we have currently) would go a long way in 'fixing' the usefulness of these droids.

The issue with Probots pre-nerf wasn't really with the HAM. It was that droid armor worked a little too well. Originally I had no trouble taking my Probot out to Lok and decimating lairs teeming with 10K+ HAM creatures without firing a shot myself. Sure it'd take a few hundred damage here and there, but honestly the armor functioned about as effectively as the AT-ST's currently does.
The Probot nerf had 3 pieces. First, the HAM was reduced from 3150 to the 810-820 you see now. Secondly, armor was turned off completely. Finally, the damage output was reduced from ~150/1.5 speed to the ~50/1.5 you see now. When armor was brought back, it was with a much lower effectiveness than the true "pre-nerf" armor - it wasn't universally heavy armor, and that was the real heart of the nerf.
I think that the majority of people who as asking for the "de-nerf" of the Probot are really asking for 2 things: tweaking the HAM back to 3150 as it used to be, or at least into the mid 2000s to be comparable to non-CH pets, and for the damage output to be turned back up to ~150/1.5, again to be comparable with non-CH pets.
