Thread: Painted my R3 ADV this morning...
TheRealTK421,
I am not a master, perhaps things change with that box, but when I attempted to color my protocol (basic-model) this morning with the customization tool, only gold (really yellow in the dialog) was available.
Rho,
I'm not a Master yet either.
I also haven't tried to color Protocols (since I have built one of the useless things yet).
If 'goldish' is the only color/hue that you're giving an option to use via the Customization tool, then that is a bug. The tool should give you 64 colors to use to color ANY droid model/type.
Period.
Sounds to me like we have our hands full with a bunch of new and broken features.

Respectfully,
Sure its broken and always hasbeen broken lol, gold was the only color you could use on the protocol chasis to begin with. I thought I also heard that a novice gets as many color options as a master can anyone confirm this? I was really excited when I saw that I could change the color of my R3 untilI stored it and called it again. Why would they even put this on the test server if they werent going to fix it before they released it live? LOL
Wasn't there supposed to be a repair kit in this patch? I didnt here anyone say oops we forgot to include that one, they just pretend like it never happened.
As best as I can tell, all DEs that can build/use the Droid Customization tool get access to all 64 colors.
Also, they talk about things they are adding (Repair tools, etc.) as a way to keep people playing on 'hope' for the next patch. If you release info about something that will make someone stay and wait.....more $$$$.
Simple as that.
The only other option is.....carelessness. Ouch.
Anyone familiar with construction has heard the term "Measure twice, cut once". Apparently, no Devs have ever been in the construction field before.

It worked just as we are all seeing it now (which is to say, broken on some models).

What?! ARGHHH!

I don't understand...why make something live that's brokens? ARRGH

Okay, I'm okay now...really I am.
As far as protocol droids go, that's just weird. I know I've seen protocol droids in different colors (not player pets, of course), so it's not like it's not impossible for that chassis to accept colorization. The ticket collector droids are almost silver, the protocol droid vendors available to merchants are kind of a pink color, and there's an NPC protocol droid wandering around the Rebel theme park that's the same color pink. Okay, that's a pretty limited palette, but it's still more than "yellow." Personally, for some reason I'd like to make my protocol droid green.

Interesting thing I noticed when (temporarily) coloring my R4 was that when I changed the Frame Color first, the Trim Color also changed. I made the Frame white and the Trim automatically came out purple.
I think it works this way, as I've tested it twice now:
1) Choose an R2 with both Trim Color and Frame Color options.
2) Choose Trim Option
3) Select Desired FRAME color. The droids Trim changes to this color. Then Click in the area on the LEFT SIDE. Nothing SEEMS to happen when you do this, but you've just set the frame color.
4) Select Desired Trim Color. The droids Trim changes to this color, though the frame stills shows as the original grey.
5) Select OK.
Both colors apply as described. The Frame AND the Trim have been colored.

Yes I understand that, but I believe one of the patch notes was "added new schematic for repair tool" for the test center, dont qoute me on thatbut Im pretty sure I read it somewhere anyone else read this? As for the big one for DEs It sounds like that wont be until after the new year.
