Well, I used the new droid customization tool to paint my R3 ADV white with green trim. So at least that is working now. Gonna try painting my surgical droid, probots, and my power droid this evening.

I had the same problem when colorizing my R3. However, I colorized my binary load lifter, my probot and a surgical droid and all three maintained their color after storing and recalling. This may just be a generic problem with the R3.

It's a generic problem with all astromechs, as well (so I hear) as with MSEs and perhaps DZ70s.

For me, droids which had customization lifespan shown in the datapad worked with no problems. Those without, got its color reverted after storing.
I only had 3 droids to test on, so I can't be 100% sure.

Droid Engineer Rho,
DZ70s do hold their color, as well as Surgicals, BLLs, Probots.
I know that most all R-series bots will not hold their colors.
I have yet to try LE Repair or Protocols.

Power Droid lost it's customization on storage. =(
Other droids I've tried are the same as other people's experiences.
R3 = Lost
BLL = Kept
Probot = Kept

I wonder...
Have DEs ever had a new feature added that wasn't broken when they released it?
I can't personally think of one. That's just sad.

was this tested on test server first? I can't remember seeing any threads about the customization kit whatsoever before this patch.

Yea...they tested it on the TC.
It worked just as we are all seeing it now (which is to say, broken on some models).

From what I can see it looks like, if the customization tool gives two color options (Trim and Frame) then the droid wont hold it's customization, if it only gives the Frame option then the color seems to hold, I haven't tried it on all droids, so I'd like to know if this actually holds true.
