If it's great for the consumer, they'll all buy more.....si?

What I "si" is a 75% reduction in sales from the people that buy them now. That is a big number to replace with new sales.
As far as the ones that don't buy them now, how likely are they to buy more than one to try? And how much time will we spend informing folks of this to regain that 75%? Did the increase in battery life help the sale of droids or do we simply sell fewer batteries now?
I realize this was meant to help us (and I appreaceate the thought), but I'm thinking it won't.
Yes, it will lower my sales on droid custom kit.
But that doesn't bother me.
I like to build droids, not droid customization kits.
I just hope that this time the initial color we select when we create the droid will also stay for 200 calls and not 20...

It's always nice to have some attention.
I'm not sure why this is such a good thing though.
At 50 calls a 8 charge unit will last for 200 calls (2 tone)
At 200 calls the same unit will last for 800 calls
Howdoes this improve sales of the kits?
It's certainly great for the consumer, but where is the benifit forus.

If you assume thatthe same number of people will be buying them both before and after the change then it doesn't help sales at all. But if you assume that the reason they don't sell all that well right nowis becausemost customersthink that50 calls is so short that the kit isn't worth buying, then this will help sales.

These will always be loss-leaders, man. Always.

Now after this change, people wont have much of a reason to buy more then one.
This change is goodif nobody is buying custom kits at all, but IMO they do.
Even in the best of situations. It's like buying a pair of shoes. No one "needs" shoes in SWG. But I'm sure people buy them.
How many people have come in here over the last year and griped at us about the colors lasting?!?
Droid users (some) do want this. Some Vehicle people do too.
Will everyone rush out and buy these now? No.
However, I suspect that some people that didn't buy droids (or paint) will now....since one of their main issues has been hopefully negated.
As for the pricing, I suspect the price will actually go up some but the value to the user would still be there, especially if they are sold crated.
I will do what you all want, of course. However, I can't see it as a good idea for them to offer a solution for something that many many droid users have said is an issue....and we turn them down.

Respectfully,
what abuot their color palette? they only havea few colors.. never actually tested it.. but does +25 droid customization help the customer have the extra colors? because for the most part the colors customers have are not as nice or diverse as the De's palette obviously

This is a good thing, we should see more variety instaed of the basic colors. I think i have figured how to keep droid customzation kit sales steady. Make your droids the most mismatched, ugly, offensive colors possible upon creation. I seem to sell a kit everytime i sell a droid. Hehe.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the change, well, heck I don't know honestly.
Maybe it's a server thing. I don't see many people running around with white droids on our server. Last time I did was somebody asking me if I had a kit.
Honestly... I don't think the problem is only 50 calls. I think the problem is ignorance of the fact that custom kits do 50 calls and not 20 like the first paint job. People just ASSUME they are the same. I have been selling custom kits for a long time, yet a little while ago, I started calling the "Droid Custom Kits, paints your droid, lasts 50 calls!" Sales took off. I actually sell quite a few.
I don't really care about making money off them really, that was never the plan with them at 3k each. It was more a customer service. The only thing is that now they will come to my vendor less often. Which gives less of a chance of some other droid catching their eye.
I'm not saying this is a bad change, I just don't think the number of calls is the issue. I just think people need to be more aware of the 50 call thing. I mean right now with 50 calls, you get 200+ calls off ofone 3k (9 charge) kit. That is an awful lot. The number of calls isn't the problem, education is.
