Thread: Now that we've seen the big plan for us....any other DEs considering throwing in the towel ?
Droid Engineer Rho, the problem is that we don't sell droids. Well at least not to me, I sell 9 or so droids a day...
The problem is, they are all the same!!!
Those 10 sells are always about:
-2 medical food/chem droids
-2 probots
- 2 seeker crates
-2 probe crates
- 1 weapon crafting droid
Once every 4 days or so, a protocol droid is sold, that does nothing but guess people have too much money
See the problem? Always the same freaking droids! I don't care about money, I make about 100k a day out of droid sales. It's just boring making the same 4 freaking droids over and over. I just want more usefulness, is that so wrong?
Frankly I already threw in the towel a long time ago. The bad part is I have been giving them MORE money with an alternate character on this server. The Devs turning my Artisan class into a Metal Creature Handler is a step in the WRONG direction if you ask me. Why in the world would a Droid Engineer manage multiple droids? Give that ability to Squad Leaders.
I WANT TO SELL DROIDS, not use them.
I'm with you Rho. I'm a Droid Engineer to the end, because I'm patient enough to sit back and wait it out. I've been a Droid Engineer for about 3 months now and a Master for almost 2 months now. So what if droids aren't perfect. Guess what, I've yet to see a profession in SWG that works 100% like it is intended to. I make droids and sell droids every day. Right now, my bank account is sitting at almost 4 million and 90% of that is from nothing but droid sales, which are mostly priced at 15k. I also have 25 Heavy Harvesters, a PA hall,6 factories, a medium house, around 1 million resources, and enough high quality weapons and armor for 3 people. I'm stating these items to brag, but instead I'm trying to prove a point. I've done quite well for myself as a Droid Engineer and any additions to my profession will only make me more successful than I already am.

1. no market for people to BUY droids
2. taking away emphesis on people using Animals and letting people fill the world with Droids instead.
1. The Combat Droids should help. Otherwise, try advertising. I'm doing quite well, sellling several high-level droids each day; making a lot of money.
2. Check the Dev Tracker for Friday. They're seriously nerfing the CHs. The highest level creature that a non-CH can have will be level 10, and they'll only be able to have one out.

I think it's essential that everyone be able to handle multiple droids AND be able to hold more droids in their datapads; especially DEs who basically have to keep one data slot open so they can handle customer droids, from time to time.
1) Repair Droids are useless unless a person can repair his own droids with them.
2) Power Droids are useless unless a person can recharge his own droids with them.
3) One combat droid to fight, and another droid to heal the player's wounds would be an optimal arrangement. A DE could go to town with a Repair Droid out AND a Power Droid out, and could buff-up everyone's droids.
4) If Luke can drag around a 3PO droid and an R2, then why can't everyone?
