We have two different systems in place here now..and for a new player its sure going to be confusing.
correction: we have three different systems in place.
modules that stack but which can achieve their cap with a single level 6 module.
modules that don't stack and which can achieve their cap with a single heavily experimented level 3 module
modules that stack and which can only achieve their cap be stacking 6, well experimented modules together
it's a nightmare just explaining this to customers. I don't even want to think about how confusing this will be for a new player.
Agreed and stand corrected.
It is a nightmare as you say . . spend the whole night in tells cos even carefully worded mails dont help.
That and the issue with the 'module rating' meaning nothing meaningful in relation to these artificial caps..it begs the question..why make this all so confusing to customers?
Malitevv wrote:the only droid combo I've been able to get this module to work in is a droid that has nothing other than the structure maintenance module in it. I'm sure other combinations might work, but they are few and far between, and I haven't found them.
I've given up in that respect. Not wasting any more time or resources attempting to put this borked module into anything other than a Mouse droid until I see reports that its fixed.
I have decided that it's not a good idea to mix this module with anything else anyway, since using it removes the use of that droid for 30 minutes or so. I intend to sell them in MSE droids only.

Ok, another bug.
I have been putting these in Advanced MSE's with 1 storage and 1 Maint module. This appears to work fine, I was able to assign structures make maint runs and everything on Thursday with zero problems.
Now today I was moving a bunch of Harvesters, destroying them and such. I "figured" when the structure was destroyed, it would be off the droids list.
Yet when I tried to assign new structures, I got the "your droid is full, remove some structures" message. Ahh ok, well I figured the old structures didn't go away.
So I try and pull up the "Edit structure list," the option is there, but nothing happens. Same thing with the "maint run" window, option is there, but no window opens.
These worked fine on Thursday, so either SOE broke something, destryong a structure breaks something, or maxing out the droid breaks something.
I did report it, these modules are getting frustrating.

I suppose if you want to carry that further you could say the same thing for most of the new modules come to think about it (harvesting, trapping, stimpack dispenser) all those have numbers which mean diddly squat in real terms!
Your exsacly right the Number system is really bad right now they ALL when possable should have a number system like the Repair Mod where 1 point = 1 point of repair. Harvesting should be a +stat like medic. Also I think all the LvLed droid parts should be done away with. and all mods should have 2 or 3 LvLs (who makes anything other then 4s and 6s anyway) lvl 1 is newbe and 2 of them equils one LvL 2 and 2 LvL 2s equils one lvl 3 and it should be this way only on the mods that are Capped at lvl 3 or 6 right now as the Maintaince Mod is.
I'm just about done with structure maintenance mods. This thing sounded good when they announced it in publish 8, but I think that now everyone can agree that it has borked up DE more than helped. It's useless till you can add power too and basically too difficult to use for the average player.
SOE needs to replace this stupid idea with one that is actually useful and works, if they're capaple of doing that and I'm beginning to think that they aren't.
For some reason every combat capable socket cluster I make hasa structure maintenance rating on it, even when I am not using any structure maintenance modules. The rating is 0 but still there should be no listing if I am not using and maintenance modules.
/bug
In case people missed it....
Even if you get the stupid things to install correctly, they may work at first, butthen they quit working. See my earlier post.
I'm not making anymore until this gets fixed.
