I don't see how something that wasn't even remotely an option and now is, suddenly hurts the profession. It may not be contributing to it as much as some would like, but to say it hurt the profession is just silly.

To be promised something and have it revoked at the last second is much worse than never having the option in the first place. That just happened.

I only hurts the immaginary content that does not exist yet lol

I agree, how can you hurt the smuggler by giving them a bonus feature that comes as a side effect to a fix in another part of the game?

We never could smuggler before now we can sort of: BONUS
Many imps will be looking to buy faction to become high rank: BONUS (for imps)
Many people will still (reguardless of the nay-sayers) want smugglers in groups now: BONUS

(non smuggler bonus) High ranking imps are immune to scans: BONUS (for imps)

Considering that the title of the Publish is "Imperial Crackdown" I think all of the imperial bonusesare not only justified but also it's about time. The dark path is supose to be easy and full of material reward.

Everyone that is crying is crying about something that does not yet exist and that is sad. Work with what we have to make the future better, don't cry over spilt milk that has not even made it to the bottle yet. We got BONUS and that is good, lets work with it and try to make a future for smuggling not through the gifts we are given back and the devs.

"We never could smuggler before now we can sort of:"

Yeah. See. IT's that "sort of" part that bothers me. Sort of. First chance at content and I get "sort of." That's what I mean by even in principal, this sucks.

What are you guys babbling about? We are the Smugglers they'll be buying their faction points from to get high ranks. Instead of saying "Man this sucks, I'm selling you my profession; /delegate", up the price of Imp faction. I'm not talking a little 10cred/faction increase...I say make it +50cred/faction.

Of course I'm not a big faction point seller, I may be ignorant of the situation. That's just my 3.6 cents though.

Are you sure it's a Non-Smuggler bonus? Look at it this way. As a high level cover Imp you will never know what's it's like to see 5 Storm Troopers comming into the cantaina and walking towards you. It will not make your heart beat a little faster as you wounder if then will scan you. Will they find that sliced weapon? Can you make the back door? Never have to think, How manny blue Dots are in here? Who can I take out fast? can I get around the Bar and out of line of sight?

As a Rebel I can't wait. I'm almost sorry I have a 95% chance to dodge the scans.

Personly, I think they should have made it where a High ranking Imp Officer would have to pay off the scan team or lose faction because the Team would report them if they didn't offer a bribe. I do agree that a Overt Imp Officer should not get scanned.

I have nothing against smugglers in any way, but this whole complaining about the next patch thing is ridiculous. Quit acting like the Devs stole smuggling from you.Real smugglingwas never there, and then they made the scanning thing. They realised that it sucked a lot more for imperials so they're reworking the system so that maybe high rank Imps won't get scanned. Why should an Imperial Colonel get scanned by a Stormtrooper private? It was never about smugglers. When the scanning came about, people thought, "Hey, maybe now Smugglers will be able to smuggle!" Then when they realized that they wouldn't, they get all upset. Logic says that (overt and/or highranking) imps shouldn't be scanned. Just because the Devs may not add smuggling to this patch, doesn't mean they stole any smuggling from the smugglers and gave it all to the Imperials.

The devs weren'thuddled in a dark room saying "Hey, lets promise the Smugglers that they would get smuggling content in the next patch, then turn around and give all of the content to Imperials instead!"

  • High-ranking Imperial = 0 skillpoints expended=100% chance of successfully hiding contraband

  • Master Smuggler = 63 skillpoints expended= 95% chance of successfully hiding contraband

Show me a comparable scenario, ie, a situation where the heart of a profession can be bought without expending a single skillpoint.

The question you need to ask yourself after today is:

Who would you rather have carry your 10 crates of Muon for you? The guy with guaranteed success, or the guy with a 5% chance of failure?

I believe, like everything else in an online game, it will just take time to settle down and see what real effect it has. Doom and Gloom are always a factor in patches, and soon enough, the real information comes out. Just look at the Chef board to see what I am talking about. Two weeks ago... doom. Now... wow.

Maybe you are not able to read.

Noone have a chancheof fail to deliver spices or sliced equip.

If you were found "smuggling" the wordt that can happen is a free ticket to the nearest clone center if rebel or to pay some money if not. You will not loose the illegal goods.

There is no "smuggling" goods, only to pay for have illegal thing or to die if you are a rebel and cannot run fast enough.

Ther is no scan on shutlleports, only in the wild, in cantinas and in 3 imperial cities. That's mean that you can only be found with illegal goods when hanging in a cantina or when running missions.

the idea that high ranking imp officers are immune to search is ridiculous, and here is why:

the police have internal affairs... the army has the military police. both of these institutions exist because no one can be allowed to entirely police themselves. this is a tried and true fact, and i find it very hard to imagine that the emporer, more hellbent on total control than any other police force/military that i can think of, would not also seek to control just as tightly his own military. think about it, if these men are being given high grade military equipment like stormtrooper armor and at-st's, would he be just a little concerned what these men were doing with all this gear? would he just smile and ignore them and say "well, i know theyre on my side... after all i gave them at-st's". no, he wouldnt. and who is the patrolling stormtrooper going to fear more, the emporer or some colonel whos breaking the law? i think the answer is fairly obvious.

since the imperial army is not divided to reflect the inclusion of a separate internal affairs or military police, the same stormtroopers who perform this role on the citizenry are the same ones who must also police the police. this is very, very logical. those of you who feel that it is logical that imps not scan imps are living in a fantasy land where all the game mechanics are bent to their own benefit. go back to gumdrop lane and send us a postcard on the forums telling us how hard you pwned the gingerbread house.
