The most helpful thing are my4 droid inventories full of component crates. All my droids have different uses, but each one hasan item storage module. When I craft, I call each one (one at a time) and open it's inventory. Then store the droid and call the next... When done, I have my inventory window, plus 4 droid inventories all open and full of needed parts. I sure hope this isnt a bug that is ever fixed!!!!!

Ya know, this game seriously needs a "minimize window" button attached to things like inventory windows etc, so we can keep them up all the time without having to reopen them everytime we need them....

Try your ALT key... or whatever you've mapped to "change cursor mode" ... works great as 'minimize'

ahhhh.. yeah, best reccomendation i give for that problem is up the transparancy a little and/or adjust window sizes... heh

I definatly agree a minimize window button would be nice

There are a lot of good ideas in this thread so far, from separate houses for workshop, to using the droidsmith's belt/bandolier, to using storage droids.

Myself, I do a little of each. I have some items in my input hopper of my personal crafting statiion in a workshop separate from my house, usually just what I'm going to work on at the moment, but more often a few leftovers from the last schematic (or two or three.)

I also use 2 of my storage droids for droid components, labelling the droids with what I (originally) put in there. That helps me pick out the one I need for whatever I'm working on.

And I've got dozens of materials and subcomponents in my inventory and backpack, which gets harder to keep there as I'm trying to raise up in Swords now to help support myself.

But I also sometimes just make up schematics running between factories where the majority of the ingredients are in the input hopper, and many subcomponents in the output hoppers. It's worked for me since January 1 when I made MDE, so I doubt if I'll change much now.

Here is what I do.

First I have one house that I "live" in, it has clothes furniture, or whatever. Then I have my "workshop" resources and droid parts only, no luxuries. You can keep the resource number down by using storage vendors.

In my workshop I do use my Crafting station hopper to keep resources. Mine is not bugged, and can hold up to 100. These count towards my houses total, but it's very nice to have them appear right as I craft.

I usually try and keep my total workshop number around 100 items total, will explain why later.

I keep all my crates in my main backpack, have all crated sub-componants and chasis ready.

In my backpack, I carry a small amount of "traveling resources." Usually good fibro, copper and steel. Since I have crates of everything, all I need to worry about is the final combine, so withabout 5resources, I can build any custom droid.

Now when it's time to do some serious crafting, I hit my workshop. Off comes the backpack, on goes the toolbelt. I start to make droids, as my pack gets full, I put them in a nearby pack in my workshop, or on the floor. This is why I keep room for 50 items, so I can put my droids somewhere as I craft them. All my resources are in my hopper.

When I am done, off comes the toolbelt, on goea my backpack, and I pick up my droids.

This works fine for me, yet you need to be willing to have a workshop that is just for work.

Store your resources in the hopper of your Crafting Station, after about a day, your house shouldn't count those items. I used to have 3stations full of resources.

or just use 1 craft station...i find most of what youll need for DE can be put in one...i use a storage vendor for the rest and just do alot of switching in and out of the hopper to vendor vice versa...if you want to use a bandoleer use that...i used to have6 houses from lot trades and my 2 accts worth...now im down to 1 house, 2 equip facs because i use a storage vendor...that and inactive acct toons are getting deleted soon so was the rumor a month back so id have to update lot traders for new storage the vendor is just simplier..

Easy way to use a vendor make a bag: DE makin bag: has anything you cant fit in hopper

DE Travel bag: bag for traveling has extra power harv deeds a few droids maybe for quick sales on the lamm.

Artisan Craft bag: i keep anotehr bag for making all the mid level comps to keep the resources seperate...

I cant stress enough that using avendor helps immensly on storage, this game is really pathetic on player storage to the point that it is impossible to stock 2 vendors (200 items BH droids so on) and keep the stuff to do that in a single home w/ decor. just my 2 creds.

I have two packs. One military pack where I keep all my resources and one spec ops pack where I keep factory crates of the average parts needed (brains, adv brains, sensor modules, adv motive systems, manipulator arms, memory modules and comp pannels). All other created parts I keep in my craft droid (named Arwyn). For the resources, I keep bulk and delete/drop anything below 1k. I only ever keep 2 forms of copper on me.. 1 high-end for good experimentation and 1 average for spamming all the metal in unimportant modules. I only keep neutronium, duranium and ditanium steel on me as they are the 3 most used steels and ONLY link-steel aluminiumplusone form of siliclistic and extrusive ore,one form of high-end fibreplast, one form of high-end polymer, one form of inert gas and one form ofreactive gas. I also usualy have atleast 3 other types of rare resources on me, like lidium extrusive (when I actually have some) depending on what I was most recently building. All other resources I keep in my house as they are rarely used on the average "on the spot" orders I get.

I keep a full set of comp armour in my protocol droid, 10 items of clothing in another droid and a 4th droid stores any extra crap I might have on me at the time like crates of batteries.

This usualy leaves me with atleast 20-30 spare slots on me while my DE bandoleer is equiped, so I have plenty of room for crafting

I heavily rely on the storage capacity of the factory i use.

I wear one backpack wich holdsTwo otherbackpacks. one that contains all my resources i can use for crafting droids. The other holds all the possible Modules that can be put in a droid.

Since the house only holds 150? items and i have a lot of droids on show i am limited in storing the Bulk resources .

I don't want to use the input hopper of the craftingstation because i lose the overview and the reliability issue of the hopper.

Since i use the factory as storage fr my modules i ran into a big FU last month because i forgot to pay my maintenance and lost all my chassis and modules, had to buy a new factory and start all over again.....

Bulk resource i keep at the bank, nicely arranged in differently named backpacks for easy refference.

Since i want to go for a Droidengineer /Shipwright combo i was stocking up high quality resources for the last months in anticipation for JTL.

I havent been using any aditional accounts/PA's or Crosserver deals so Room for stuff is a pain now.

I am in doubt now to or buy an extra house for stocking or a extra factory, because i want to use the maximum of left over slots for my harvesters, just to see if you realy needed that extra account or could do it in a slower pace.

I preordered the JTL beta at EB Games in the States and had a friend ship it to holland for me arriving two days ago.

The most frustrating thing was downloading the 2.3 Gig. and al the other patching stuff, restarting the launchpad etc.

Last night i wanted to play in beta again only found myself staring at the launch screen for an other hour, to get the latest patches.

Funny thing is that i only went flying and didn't use the char builder to become MDE Or MSW to start experimenting with the droid modules.

Another downfall was that the test servers don't have al the resources needed for ships and modules ,spawning yet so i was forced (on purpose, Dev's?) to go flying.

Any comments?

Ehh,

Another thing i like to do is Preplan my factory rus as much as i can.

First i decide on wich droid-Frame i want to build and check the Schematic.

Then i plan Small batches of sub Components and build around 50 Droid-Frames of the types i need.

For me this is the only way to keep the maximum amount of available space(storage) in my factory and keep the parts i don't use in the output hopper, not taking them out.

I also want to adres the issue of the surgical and Repair Droids not working properly, according to some old posts....

I know this is not the right board for this but because i would like to see a surgical droid being used by a master Doctor i would like to know if the LvL6 Med Module/Food/chem Station/storage combo works in this surgical droid and if the LE repair droid is usable again or only interesting in use as a tank droid since the HAM is highest.

Just my two Euro Cents duh....
