I welcome this change. I personaly want to sell droids not batteries and paint kits, you don't see an armorer selling a composit armor paint kit do you?

I also would like to see my advertising droid staying put when I go in space or to a different planet, that would make them much more usefull.

Ok, Why would a DE want a Battery to last longer? People Continue to buy droids, Batterys are just something they have to have. I see no reason at all to make them last longer. Batterys are cheap and its just a matter of educating your customers. To say people dont buy Droids because they have to have batterys is not right. I am amazed at how long Batteries do last now. Unless you are a Medic they last a long time.

But i will go with the game and whatever they do is fine, I just dont know why DEs would be saying we want to have batts last longer cause thats sales you miss out on.

Number 1 complaint by current droid owners - My droid chews through batteries too fast.

There is a large number of people who do not use droids becuase they have to recharge the droid once an hour or less. This change should bring many droid owners back to using their droids for various tasks.

Combat droids, harvest/trap droids, barker droids, & entertainer droids: Why aren't these being used as much as they could be? This is due (in part) to the fact that people buy them, start using them, love using them, and then 30 min after they start using them, they shut off.

"Wha?? Batteries?? Aw CRAP! I didn't know they needed batteries."

They get some random novice artisan to make them a stack of 2 droid batteries. They burn through those in under an hour. The droid goes back to the datapad (or delete-land) never again to see the light of day.

Thank you devs. I welcome this change.I make the bestmoneyfrom selling droids, not batteries. If all goes well, people will use their droids more. Others will see the droids and want droids for themselves. I consider this to be a Good Thing.

Just don't go and up the battery life a month from now to 4WEEKS per battery <cough> *paint kits* <cough>.

personaly i dont even make batterys, ive always found the artisan market make enough ive only been asked couple times to make any and thats always been when someones got a new droid. each servers different but its just one item since artisans make them ive not seen any point making.

Good change tiggs.

Batteries were never much of a money maker anyway, even selling them expensive like I do at 10k a crate for 4 charge batteries. They were just something to offer so a customer knew they could always get them.

Removing the things that customers find annoying about Droids is the first step to increasing Droid sales.

Two nights ago (before the fix) my new entertainment droid ran through its first battery rather quickly.

Last night (after the fix) my droid was at 75% capacity AND STAYED THERE. Is this correct.

If the factor of 4x is correct, I would expect the droid to run out after a few hours.

The droid was stationary while running its program both times.

This 75% thing is a bug I believe... I recharged 2 droids last night and they ran down to 75% and then after awhile said "low power". Upon examining the low power droid, it still said 75% battery. I believe the indicator is broken. Since this is the case, I hope the timer is also not broken and batteries really do last longer (please double check Devs!)

This is a good step in getting the word about Droids around I think. Forget about how to make money off of people at this point, damn near everyone I've met is either like "what can you do with droids? why would I want one?" For space droids at least there is a holocron (Ctrl-H) for Droids in Space under Space... I refer people to that and then they want a flight computer or droid with a data module (astromech). Amazing what a little knoweldge can do

Tiggs, how about a totally non game mechanic change request? I request more in-game documentation like this Droids in Space on "What can a [non-space] droid do for me?" This DE profession section has about a million words on it... sick an editor on some of this stuff and stick it in the holocron. Referring people to a website while in game will just make the potential buyer go "ah well forget it"... I mean I would, and did until I became a DE and read all the information in this DE profession section.

People think that droids can not help them or their costs outweigh the benefits.. especially in combat.. that is not right.. a story ... I'm 0400 in Pistoleer (and almost a master DE ) and I have a buddy that is 1111 in Bounty Hunter. We didn't have buffs and so didn't put on our armor (or we'd have specialed ourselves to death ) and went hunting on Dantooine for 10K credit missions (voritors, pickets, etc). I have some fairly good probots and can make some B repair modules (about 800 healing). Long story short, we mopped up thanks to the droids! We would have totally gotten our butts handed to us if we didn't have them. People need to know about this stuff. I don't think its our responsibilty to tell people what droids can do... I mean we do because we have to, but shouldn't there be some documentation much like Droids in Space *IN GAME* for those not in the know to refer people to?

I'm all for just doing away with batteries. Look at it this way... that's like having to buy ammo/power for your guns, fuel for your ship, etc.

This is a good change. Thank you.

I do not see this as a profit itemfor a DE as this is an Artisan Engineering I skill to make.

Thank You,
