More info from StGabriel Swordsman Corresponant:

Ok, I replied with this info but I think a new thread would help. This is the normal method through which FS skills are obtained by FS charactors. At the end I will briefly discuss what is known about boons received for Holo grinding.

Basically there are two parts to obtaining FS skills. The first part is doing quests and the second part is using FS xps that have been obtained from converting regular xps.

Let me give an example. Captain Sarguillo is an NPC in the village. He offers a quest to attack an enemy base. When you do this quest you obtain the ability to train Combat Prowess: Melee Accuracy. That doesn't mean that you actually have the Melee Accuracy skills -- you just have the ability to actually train them. In order to do th actual training you need to convert your regular experience into Force Sensitive Combat xps. There are four FS experience types: combat, reflexes, senses and crafting. Normal xps convert at various rates into these FS experiences through an NPC. For weapons skills the conversion rate is 10 weapons xps -> 1 FS Combat sp (or Reflexes xp). For combat xps the rate is 1:1. Etc. There is a more complete list in another thread on this board.

Combat boxes require 175k, 250k, 350k, 450k experience for each respective level. To continue the example, when I completed the captains first mission I decided to train Melee Accuracy. I had 260k combat xps, 900k 2h xps, 900k unarmed xps and 900k SL xps. The combat xps converted directly into 260k FS Combat xps. The unarmed and 2h xps converted into 180k. The SL xps converted at a rate of 12:1 and yielded 75k experience. Having those xps AND having done the quest with Captain Sarguillo allowed me to then train Combat Prowess: Melee Accuracy I & II. I then had to go out and grind to obtain more experience to get III & IV.

Perks for Holo-grinders: The perk for holo-grinders appears to be the ability to get "free unlocks" of entire FS branches. I did 1 Holo and 16 total profs and I was offered 3 free unlocks. Someone I know who did 3 holos (+1 silent) and 7 total profs was offered 2 unlocks. I don't know of anyone who has used these yet and so it is still unclear as to what they do. For all we know they may give you the entire FS branch right there or they may simply give you credit for having done the quest respective to that branch. If it's the latter that would be a real letdown as the quests are a lot of fun and have rewards as well.

175,000 FS xp= 875,000 droid crafting xp

250,000 FS xp = 1.25 mil droid crafting xp

350,000 FS xp = 1.75 mil droid crafting xp

450,000 FS xp = 2.25 mil droid crafting xp

So far the mission where you have to destroy the Sith camp is the only part of the system that is "broken" for non-combat types.

There should be an optional non-combat mission for us. Unfortunately its a bottleneck right now- you have to do it. Its unknown if you could have a friend kill of the thugs for you and get you the disk.

Just one note on teh amount of xp required... if you really want to grind it you're grinding will be spaced out over 9 weeks (I think TH said that was the minimum time you could do all the quests in due to the rotation cycle or whatever), so its not that bad. I'd cap out on droid crafting xp every couple weeks doing normal orders as it is.

I've just posted a little blurb/report on this on the Corr. boards.

Of course, if you run into issues of this type, make sure to /bug it, /bug it, /bug it...

Seeing as how Charinida has *NO* combat skill... There needs to be a non-combat option... And rarely does she inquire or ask for help...

How long will it take to kill someone with a CDEF pistol?

The correct question should be: How long will it take to get killed when weilding a CDEF pistol?

And the answer: Quite instantly

Sheeesh, were on the DE boards, those are entirely the wrong questions.

The real question is..."How long do they take to kill while I heal my Probot and HE kills them."

The xp ratios were all just increased. Droid crafting to FS crafting xp ratio is now 20:1. Hopefully this will be reduced.

When it comes to numbers "they" usually first pick an absolute low, then an absolute high.... in the end "they" usually land somewhere inbetween.

I am an MDE and my only interest in the FS quests is become a Crafting Master, which requires 4 trees (assembly, experiement, repair, and techniques);

Let's see how much DE crafting it will take to become a FS Crafting Master, compared to the DE crafting xp required to become Master Droid Engineer:

It takes 1,228,800 Droid Crafting xp to become MDE.

So, 1 MDE grind = 1,228,800 DE xp

Ignoring the 50,000 FS xp it takes to get trained in FS Crafting Master Novice.

Each FS Crafting Master tree requires 1,225,000 FS xp per tree (humm, what a coincideance)
And four trees means 5,000,000 FS xp to become Crafting Master.

Now, if the normal DE xp to FS xp conversion ratio was 1 to 1...

Each complete tree would be equivalent to grinding the MDE profession.
and Crafting Master (4 trees) that is equivalent to grinding MDE 4 times.

However, the xp conversion ratio is now 20:1 on the TestCenter2 server, thus:

Each complete tree would be equivalent to grinding the MDE profession 20 times,
and Crafting Master (4 trees) that is equivalent to grinding MDE 80 times!
