I agree that currently RTFM isn't a great response. However RTFPRBY (the PRTBY being "post right below yours") may be more fitting at times
I really think it's more of a time issue. I (or others) may be say at work and like actually working or something. Somebody may ask a question that we know is covered in the 101, which we know isn't perfect, but it is there. So since we are short on time, we may direct them there, in my mind, that is better then giving the person no response at all and them feeling ignored.

Again thank you all for your replies,
I have noticed when browsing these forums there are alot of 'bugs' with regards to the new CU, but as this is a huge game, and the dev team is relatively small, it shall take time for these to all be resolved, in my opinion patience is all thats needed.
I have acknowledged also that the DE 101 has no need for an update as the updates for the SWG game as a whole is still taking place so this would be pointless. Im not talking about the content though, as the content is all good, but the way it is set out an navigated could be made easier.
Thanks alot for you time once again, I am very much enjoying being a part of your community.

A lot of what would help the cause is in the post with your question, post I read "blah, blah" in the DE 101 but I don't understand...Then ask your question. It shows you've put in the work.
Straker,
Since the game is barely 2 years old, there aren't many DE's that have been a DE longer than a year and a half, and if there are the most they can be is 6mos older.

Lol, I know, but trust me, when I started, that 6 month edge was huge. I bugged the guys a lot, sadly most of them are gone.
On the topic related note, I would like to sorta make a point. On the first page alone there are 6+ posts asking what to grind for Droid Engineer. A question that is 100% covered in the DE 101, yet it is also answered in the other posts asking the same question. Sure it's an easy answer, but it just shows that people don't even check the front page for related topics.

Jedokai, I don't understand what your saying, so sorry I cant reply to that.
And I know that people dont always read the FAQ's when this could easily answer their question, by just reading it.
All I'm saying is that people won't read it, becuase they are human...and humans as a species will get something the easy way, if they can. I am prepaered to reply to posts that ask FAQ's answered in DE101 but I am not experianced enough to answer, I will also direct them to DE101 and the part in which they need to refere to. I don't know if this is because im patient or new to SWG but we're all here for the same reason, so why not help each other with our problems.

Simply put, if you have a question prove to the reader you tried to solve it on your own, but either couldn't find it or didn't understand it. This makes people much more willing to help.

Exactly, my Eurani account has been around for 2 years now and barring her first foray into entertainership on a different character set for a month or two she has always been an artisan working up to Droid Engineer .. so I could honestly say I was a Droid Engineer for 1year 6months + with Master at least that far back.
I found that printing off the 101 doc back then and rifling through the pages as and when I needa big help. I don't recall having a problem getting to what I need but maybe it worked for me. As long as information wise you can see what resources an item needs and what items a resource needs and what components an item needs and what items a component makes up it has all you need to prepare yourself for when those sales roll in ...
Working on a DE in Ahazi too (Eurani there too) but shes currently just Artisan 4004 at the moment and have a Master DE on Radiant where I am most of the time under one guise or another. Feel free to send a tell to any of my chars if you need to check up on something.
Oh, and Thread Creator .. welcome to this occupations.

Thanks guys, your input has been great.
I'm honoured to be apart of this great community
I have now made a char on FarStar, as I'm english so I am on a server closer to me geographically. This char isn't currently training artisan but will be later on in life, as it costs alot an I'm not that good, or experianced enough yet to be an artisan all too well. I am training bounty hunter, as i like the idea of being able to be a 'head hunter' if you want to put it like that tickles me a little
But thank you all for your help, I shall keep in constant touch with the DE forum here, as i know i shall need you guys in the near futur when i train DE.
