Thread: Pricing??

Ok, I have a quick question about pricing: I got some harvesters up (WOOHOO!!) and I have 2 personal chemical harvesters sitting on a patch of Fibroplast (sp?) with an OQ of 947. From what is understand, this is good stuff, and fibro is needed for a lot of things. I have been able to sell all of what I had at 12CPU ($6000 for 500 units) My question is, can I sell this for more?? I really don't want to overprice it, and end up back where I started a week from now, but I want to get as much value out of it as I can. I know that pricing tends to depend on the economy of the particular server (I'm on kauri, BTW) but am I obviously charging too much/too little, or is 12 CPU about right?? Thanks again to everyone putting up with a noob

It's worth something, yes.

Worth 12 cpu? Probably not, at least in my opinion.

Given that it's corellian fiberplast, it's not a named resource that's a must have (unless you've got some perverse armorsmiths that take pleasure in churning out padded armor) which cuts it's potential price down some. You won't have doctors clamboring over it.

And sadly enough, there's enough differnt fiberplasts that normally one's of "acceptable" quality.

A nice price guice is "put it up a bunch, if all what you put up sells within 12 hours, you're selling it too cheap"

I have a couple million units of Tatooine fiberplast I mined a month or 6 weeks ago that has an OQ of 1000. I would HOPE to get 12 cpu for it... I have to agree Jjiaah that the quality you described would not be worth more than 2cpu, especially knowing it is not a special required resource for any specific item.

The doctors paying 50-100 cpu for organics have made everyone think resources should be sky high... in general, remember that mined resources cost something like .02 credit per unit to the harvester, and that includes power, maintenance, as well as a slight markup due to the expense of pulling up harvesters and dropping them elsewhere.

Well it depends on a lot of things actually. On a server that has had a lot of 1000 OQ fibro or high fibro spawns, it may not go for much. However, on your server 945 may be the highest anybody has seen in a long time.

On Scylla at least 6cpu is ussually fair for a "current" and "good" resource. Current means it's out now, and well good is relative.

If you are getting 12 cpu for it, I would probably be happy, that would be high for Scylla though.

That is something I would pay 2cpu for, 3-4cpu MAX if I desperately needed it. As a DE there's really no need for it specifically. It would simply go into things like weapon powerups. If I pay much more than 2cpu, there would be no profit to be had.

It should be noted that I am on Scylla, however and our servers economys may be (and likely are) vastly different.
