Ok so a selection would be applied first based on the boost and if failed the existing process (50/50) would apply. Cool!

Fabulous post.

I enjoyed the ideas & agree with most of them. I especially like the combat droid section. My only concern or disagreement comes out of the proposed droid cert rules. This is much like becoming a Jedi, from what I read, where those who master more professions get rewarded. Droids should follow a more simple path in my mind. I would rather see the cert system based on a total xp basis, or a 3 tiered (novice, master basic, master expert) basis.

Just some ideas & if they've been rehashed in previous discussions, my apologies.

The cert system concept is set up to be based on having multiple elite noviceprofessions, mastering starting professions, or mastering elite professions. Most of the people that I have meet in the game have at least 2 novice elite professions and most have at least 3. I'll admit that the system is actuallyin favor of merchant/crafters since most have Novice Merchant, their profession of choice, and one other Novice elite profession.

The problem with basing a cert system on a Skill point usage system is that the 15 points from all starting professions would need to be discounted when the cert is considered. Anyone would be able to use up 120 Skill points in a matter of just a few hours playing time, if they became a Novice in all starting professions and then leveled each professions skills to tier 1.

A system based on overall exerience has its faults as well, due to the differences in how each profession can gain xp. There is also the matter of what XP is counted.

I'm not saying that either system is wrong, or the one that is listed is the best. I'm just pointing out that any system that is used will have its down side.

You know, I haven't been adding to this lately, mainly because I feel I've already had a nice impact, and didn't have much else to say...

But now, I have reason to speak up again.

First, a little background, sorry if it bores some of you:
My shop is in a good location south of Coronet, and I've been there since just a few weeks into the game, when there weren't many player houses around. I didn't think about anything when I was setting it up except having it be near my friend Plainswalker's house.

These days, location is more of a concern, but I haven't been able to do anything about it, because the local area is so built up... But with the advent of player cities, restrictions on house placement were relaxed... So I've opened a new medium house on a slope, giving me greater visibility for those running from the city.

That being said, here's the story: I've got a small house full of items that need to be moved, and I'm a packrat so my personal inventory is full.

FINALLY I get to the point.

The idea for Binary Load Lifters to hold 25 items is nice... But this morning, it SURE would have been nice to be able to pull out a Lifter, inform it what items I want moved, and then let it get to work.

So I suggest a new feature for BLLs, along the lines of set patrol point/patrol: 'Add to Move List', 'Delete from Move List', 'Set Destination Structure' and 'Begin Moving' would be the required new commands.

Give the move list a large capacity (equal at least to half the contents of a small house), and let the items move over time. There isn't much need to even have the BLL animation unless the droid owner is present when more items are scheduled to disappear or spawn.

If I target an item, and then instruct the BLL 'Add to Move List', it should acknowledge this just li

I love this post and I think it needs a well deserved /Bump!

Plus, if I may throw my two creds in, here's a few ideas I posed back a while ago. While now most are moot, I'd be honored if you read them over and took any ideas ya liked. =)

Yes!!!! Omni droid! That is by far the best idea I have seen so far. Whoever thought that one up...you rock dude! GIVE ME AN OMNI DROID/ADVANCED OMNI DROID! I think that if the devs made this droid, it would make this profession 300% more fun. I like the combat droids however, I think that some of them should have the abilities to help you in combat instead of doing combat themselves. Like making its owner more accurate, or doing something to hinder your enemies in combat like smoke screen like emp pulse that reduces the effectivness of your foes ranged weapons. Stuff like that keeps our combat droids from being compared to creature pets for balance, and makes it so that droids are just as necessary to have as a creature that doesmassive damage. This is because the droids would give you different abilities and capabilities that a creature cant offer.

Lets not forget KotoR style assassin droids. This would be useful for bounty hunters, or anyone who has a grudge. Merely type in the name of the target, and your droid will find it and try to kill it. Of course it would need to be balanced slightly, but you could adapt the cert idea to fit it.

I'd like to see a shield generator for the droids. The Droideka's have them. It would be nice for other droids to have them as well. Especially us

I'd like to suggest an easier certification system than basing it on what professions have been obtained/mastered/whatever. Well, easier to understand, not necessarily easier to code. I'd like to see it quest based. The 0-4 method seems to work based on how far into the quest you've made it (0 being never started/don't know where the NPC is). It just seem like it may be cool to be taught how to use the most powerful droids in the game by some crusty old DE who's been using droids since before you were born .
