An accurate perspective, in my opinion. Any major changes probably would be in-or-after the first expansion, on a horizon that has yet to see any hint of the coming dawn.
Don't tell us that DE only droids don't fit in the SWG universe. Tell us where you see CH's in anything Star Wars related. When did Luke have to call a Cowardly Gurreck just to be able to fight Vader?

Engineer can also connote operator. Don't get hung up on semantics, or you'll end up biting yourself in the back of the neck.

You should have said may connote operator, as there are many engineering professions and products that will not be operated by the designing/building engineers. So sometimes engineers are operators, and sometimes they are not.
In the real world the operator role is determine by a variety of factors. In SWG, it's determined by factors laid down by SOE.
