We are engineers for Dem sake !! I am no CH who is used to wildernes, and hunting, I dont care if some one wants to go huntingwith their droids, but dont make me spend all the rest of my points in combat skills in orther tobe able to play my profesion, YES i want combat droids, but I want everyone to use them, not only Me.

K, so Player cities..mmm...we 're the closest profesion to a Computer Engineer so why dont WEE make all the Terminals, the Ticket Droids, Bazaars, mission etc???

From what I understand of all of the certification suggestions, you won't HAVE to get a combat profession to be a DE. You would only have to get the combat profession to use the more combat-oriented droids. If you don't wish to go out and hunt with those droids, don't. Simple as that.

Army Corp of Engineers

Sea Bees

Navy Engineering

Just because a job says engineer does not automatically mean it is non-combat.

Then of course there's the local Union of Operating Engineers, full of guys qualified to operate various pieces of heavy construction equipment...

You are totally right, but let me adds that this profesionis Bugged, because no one needs us, except BH, and a few doctors, If we get Droidekas that only us can use, and that's all the fix, I will still think the profession is Bugged, Simply Because, I don't want to earn my money destroying Lairs.

The skills to build a bridge and then to defend said bridge are distinct and separate. When those two skill sets are combined, they create a very high value, ala Army Corp of Engineers. The combat skills would be learned (I presume) in boot camp, while the engineering skills would be learned in a more traditional education setting and/or shop. Most likely there is a third skill set as well which gels the other two, e.g. procedures to defend a bridge under construction.

Adding DE-Only combat droids is only one Small part of the whole equation, but everyone is focusing on it like it's the second coming. Read Sintrosi's post and TH's posts, combat droids for everyone, combat droids for DE's, uses for power droids, uses for surgical droids, uses for other droids. It's only 1 piece of the puzzle and proposed fixes, not the whole enchilada. First we won't to be fixed, then give us all the combat droids, droids to sell, droids to use. Stop focusing on just this ONE piece of the issue. DEs are not clamoring for a "De-only Droikeka" instead of fixing the profession, this is in Addition to fixes.

They are soldiers who are also engineers. Or vice versa. In-game this would be the equivalent of, say, the bounty hunter profession, which combines different skill sets to get one with a unique value.

Absolutely correct. But if real-world scenarios are going to be used to justify in-game operations, it doesn't hurt to see alternative perspectives.
