Thread: (Customer Emails) Q: In Case U Thought We Were Exaggerating! (can u say BROKEN?)
Once people are used to paying 6k (or whatever) for a Probot they will always expect to pay it - and someone will always cave in and sell it that low
The combat types have no cash sinks right now (due to cloning/insurance being unneccessary) so the people who are most likely to go through Probots are the people who can still afford to pay 15k+ for them - put some value on your time if nothing else and stick to your guns on pricing
What with maint fees on factories being all over the map and maint fees in general going screwy everytime the servers go down (and this is before we talk about bugged resource shifts) crafters need money now more than ever (until these issues are fixed) so theres another reason not to lower your prices just because the Probot got nerfed - I dont see any consideration from buyers coming back the other way...."Aww the poor crafter has messed up factory fees, I'll pay him extra to help him out"
Have some pride and integrity in your work, because once these issues are resolved youre going to have alot of trouble trying to justify a higher price because someone out there (probably a grinder) will just keep selling them at the currently established cost.
>>>While I understand why you do it, lowering prices due to nerfs and bug only hurts droid sales (for everyone) in the long run
With due respect, I don't agree. Prices are always determined by supply and demand -- there's no way around this. With permadeath, demand slackens, and so must prices, if the seller wishes to maximize his profit.

I know it doesn't cost that much in resources and you're wealthy
SNARL. Comments like that should give you a Temporary Idiot Flag and make you permakillable. Yeah, I'm sooooo wealthy. Good God I can't believe how much cash I've got. I'm so rich I don't even have to make droids. I can afford to spend all my time running around to harvesters and then running missions to pay for upkeep on the harvesters. That's how filthy, stinking rich I am.
cant sell anything but medical module droids. so when customers ask for a droid, i ask them how much you want to pay, because ar2 droid is no bettter than a Mouse
an advanced probot for 2.5K? sorry but you're insane. 2.5K isn't even worth the time it takes to make one.
I Still sell Basic Probots with Level 6 armor mods for 15K. The advanced Models go for 35k to 45k depending on which modules.
Wish I had more time to make more to keep my vendor stocked.

Female Customer: I would like to buy some droid chassis from you and have you name them so I can use them as displays and I want you to take these chassis I bought from another DE as trade ins.
Me: Sorry I don't take other DE parts as trade in. I only take parts that I made as trade ins.
Female Customer: Your rude.
Customer's husband: I have to cancel my order with you because you were rude to my wife. ( I had already made the special order for him)
Me: <shrugs> Where was I rude.

I can't but agree to this statement...
Why on earth sell avanced probots for 2.5??
Takes more time to make one of those probots then it takes me to run 2 pairs of survey missions (2x1800 x2 = 7200 credits)
I thought I was selling cheap when I sold these for 10.000-12.000
I get people asking me all the time: "How much for a droid?!"
They seem to believe that all droids cost the same.
And most of them don't care one little bit when I say "Sorry, but I do not make or sell mouse droids"
No problem is the answer I get and most often they end up buying a much more expensive droid (R2 or Surgical)
Madcat0911..... If u are selling advanced probots for 2.5k each your not verybright. You are selling a droid for less than what it costs you to make it.In addition, you are also hurting the droid profession. I easily sell regular probots for 10-12k each and 15-20k for the adv models. If there are any smart droid engineerson ur server they would buy urs and resell them.

Generally speaking you are correct, however we do not have a working economy and supply and demand are not the only factors. Given that the combat types have a cash suplus do to the current lack of cloning/insurance those that want a Probot can afford the price
The current problem is that a Probot is not wanted (at any price) due to perma-death I doubt you could even give them away for free to some players - lowering prices does not solve this problem since your not selling to anyone who wouldnt have purchased at the higher price anyway.
But once perma-death is removed those players who didnt want one at all under perma-death will want one, but at the previously advertised prices (and I personally believe this is the majority of players)
