Imagine how many droid ownsers are suddenly going to be seeking a DE when they hear the news that their beloved useles piece of junk can be a pretty coloured useless piece of junk

What's so great about this statement is that it is funny and very TRUE at the same time. I have probably lost 20 droid sales directly from people who wanted a droid (usu an R2), but when I told them it comes out red and gray they didn't want it anymore.

I spend most of my time sending emails to bounty hunters asking them if they need droids. One of the guys I emailed tonight sent me a tell asking if I knew seekers didn't work. I said I knew they sometimes didn't work right but usually they did. He said they hadn't worked for weeks. I told him I did not think that was true. There was a pause, then he asked me how what the Arakyd probe droids were for.

4. I can't list any more reasons as all my energy has been sucked out of me by droid engineering.

He may be running with the old pre-patch droids. With the patch, they completely stopped working at all. The new ones work very well, charges and all. To entice him back, make him a single one of the new style and give it to him for free to try out. When it works, he'll come back as a committed customer. A little customer relationship goes a long way both in the real world and the virtual.

One has to ask the question

Why, if the devs _are_ planning to do something to address DE issues, havent they bothered to post about it in the DE board or at least provided the Correspondant with the info to post it?

Sure you can look at Holos posts in the general forums as encouraging, but this to me just highlights deeper issues

Ireally cant be doing with wading through the noise in the general forums on the off chance theres something useful there - sure the dev tracker is good for this but why have the profession boards and why have the correspondants if the devs dont bother to use them!

I don't log in anymore really. I pay 3 days worth on my harvestors and don't go back in except to place another 3 days maint on them... Master Droid Engineer is worthless. I'll probably be hitting the cancel button in a couple weeks...

Did Sintrosi quit or was she banned, anybody know? I am guessing she quit.

I'm not saying that most DE's want the prof to be Uber. I don't think
most do. Most DE's just want to have useful droids that are interesting to
own/sell/make. I'll be the first to admit that there are many problems with
DE. I'm a very new DE, so I'm sure I haven't hit many of the issues yet. I've
just noticed a general trend in complaining. For the most part, the people who
gripe the loudest and threaten the most aren't talking about balance. They
don't seem interested in the quest for it. Balance is very hard to achieve, and
if something is overpowered, the first fix will probably make it underpowered.
Then it will be cautiously brought up to the correct level. It is much better
for the game for a prof to be underpowered than overpowered. Look at CH. CH is
about as annoying as it gets.
I've read a number of threads where the Dev's are asking about what we want
for DE. They've admitted that we need more combat droids, and the bugs need to
be fixed. I would rather they took their time and did it right. With all the other
issues, that might be a while.
But, I'm a carbinier with a growing resource business. I've got plenty of other
stuff to do.

With the high negativity here on the DE forum (and some of the other profession forums as well), if I were a developer I wouldn't exactly be jumping to read/post them either. For every constructive post there seems to be at least 1 (if not 2 or 3) "do what I want or I'm cancelling!" type posts, which accomplish nothing but to ensure that we're even more completely ignored.

Holo/Qhave extended olive branch after olive branch to the DE community of late. They've acknowledged that they understand we have issues more serious than the majority of other professions and need attention. They've admitted they're finding our issues very difficult to address and that they're trying nevertheless. They've acknolwedged that combat droids are needed and in the serious works (even Shugfrom the LucasArts side acknowledged this only the other day). I read every developer post on these forums every day, and I can tell you that we're getting more attention than ever and that the plight of the DE class appears first and foremost on their minds as far as bugged professions go.

Granted, we're paying customers and have every right to expect solutions to our issues. However, a little patience is in order. It's not like they're telling us the things I mention above as a stall tactic. They're telling us these things because they want us to know they're making an effort, but it's not going to be a 15-second-instant-microwave-meal solution. Nor do I think we want it to be, because if it is, it'll result in more broken code and more disappointed people.

None of the above, I'm fairly certain. She started the thread in SWG Discussion that netted a couple replies from Holo that I reference above, and that was only a few days ago.

Well yes, there is some negativity here but now why is that?

Why is Holo discussing this with us and not the DE Developer, and why has this person never talked to us?

Kind of sad that they can't at least get droid experimentation and armour working.
