Yeah, dont let him get you down Armarri I'd have done the same thing. 5k isnt that much to ask (whats that take 15 20 minutes tops at the mission terminal?) Anyway, why would a n00b want a crafting station? (said he had only 1k creds...) I mean, how many complexity 25+ item schematics could ya have at that point ? hehe

Plus if you said "No I dont sell crafting stations", whats his alternative? Buy a house (5-6k depending on server) then buy a station (another 3-5k fora cheap one). Um yeah 5k total for a mobile crafting station or 8-11k for a stationary one ..

Bah

I do not put crafting stations in mouse droids anymore, and in fact now only put them in R4's or greater (R2, R3, adv. probot, etc.). Here's my rationale: My most popular droids are ones with food/chem stations and medical 110%. Sure, I can put that in just about any droid, even an advanced mouse droid (not including general socket cluster trick), but why should I only make a few thousand credit profit off of a mouse droid when I can make 20,000 credit profit from an R2?

I *know* people will buy the food/chem + medical droid, and I know they will pay a lot of money for it if it's in a more advanced droid, so that's what I make. Additionally, someone will see my customer with his crafting + medical R2 and say: "Wow that's cool, where'd you get it from?" And then I get customers through this word of mouth. I know this happens a lot, because people email me saying: "You made a droid for a friend of mine and he loves it, can you make me one? Price is not important." I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that!

Mouse droids? Leave them for the new DE's still grinding through blueprints I and II or just starting up the other skill trees. As masters, differentiate your product by putting the highly useful modules into advanced and more expensive droids to leave room in the market for non-masters who are still trying to level up and sell some droids to fund their grinding.

Peace!

5-6k for a house? I certainly hope not!
3-5k for a cheap crafting station? Yes, I can see that. Much, much higher for something of superior quality.

Im an architect and hearing houses sell between 5-6k is certainly something that hurts.

Armarri is nothing but furry goodness. And I too agree that you're buying more than just a chassis when purchasing droids.

I won't even make mouse droids, until they let me put Grenades in them! Over one thousand of these annoying rodents of a droid... Yes I ran out of steell frequently... I refuse to make them for any reason unless I can blow them up. I might lose the 5k in sales, but the MSE market should belong to up and coming DE's not Masters.

I charge based on resources, but 1k is alittle cheaper than what I would charge someone. I think my price for crafting and MSE droids is like 2350 or something there of. My pricing is based on a 10:1 pricing scheme on materials. I have been very nice to people on this because most materials are hard to find and should have a higher pricing to them however I do understand that non-DEs are frustrated that we can not produce what they want all the time.

I win business because my pricing, but I also become more frustrated with the number of people wanting things. I no longer use the Master Droid Engineer tag to keep from having too many clients.

I sell droids for what they're worth. If it takes special components to make, they cost even more.

I will only put a general crafting station into a droid that costs less than 4000. I charge an extra 1k for the other crafting stations, and +3k for a structure station... so the min I'd sell a mouse with chemcraft is 5k.

Frankly, if you don't think a mobile, private crafting station is worth 5k and you're willing to post an inflammatory thread about it, I know who the jerk really is.

I meant: I will not put a crafting station, except general crafting, in any droid under 4000 base price.

Now when you release them they just disappear correct? The transfer idea is great though you can really grief with that, well not that bad I guess.

why are you wasting a master DE's time on a mse? Really man, by time we're done grinding them, we never wanna see em again. Personally I start work at 10k. Not to be a snob, I'd just rather be out having fun with that time, the income from that type of sale doesn't balance up to the fun of the hunt. Fair enough reasoning?

As I've said before, I absolutely refuse to put anything more than Level 1 modules into a Mouse Droid. It represents the problems with our profession, and it is a waste of my time to skill up greater modules just so I can sell a bunch of 5k mice.

Am I a jerk for doing it? Maybe. But I set my rules out, rules that are based on the effort I put into the profession as well as my personal ethics about what is right and what is wrong with it. If they don't like it, I have no problems letting them find a different DE who will do it.

:**edit**: even when I do custom crafting for customers right infront of them I never charge more than 1k for a MSE with 1 mod. that's some bull.
