That is the BEST guide I've ever read on these boards. I've been a DE a long time now and I found several usefull tips.

Thanks a bunch! Great job!

Woah, now that is a DE guide. That really is some reading that every DE should take a look at, even non-DEs.

Thanks everyone.

There are a few more items that I want to add to, like the FAQ Section and putting in Table of Contents. (OCDs are sometime annoying.:robotwink

FAQ suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I updated a few items in the thread, including a Table of Contents, links of to some of the FAQs and I made a few spelling corrections as well. If you don't see anything listed or mentioned, please point it out to me.

BTW, this is a liberal bump, in hopes that anyone needing to ask questions will check here first.

If you chose the Manipulator Arm Package Sets route, it will take 203 successful builds to make it to Expert Droid Blueprints or approximately 14300 metal, 3960 ferrous metal, 13200 extrusive ore, and 3300 chemical. If you chose to stick with the MSE grind it will take you 458 successful crafting sessions and approximately 26500 metal and 7500 chemical to advance to the next level. You will want to train Expert Droid Blueprints, in order to find the next fastest way to progress.

At Expert Droid Blueprints, you will want to switch over to Advanced Droid Frame Units which will give you 462 XP in practice mode or 440 XP while crafting an item for your inventory. Each Advanced Droid Frame Unit requires 150 steel and 70 Fiberplast.

Shouldn't the instances of "Expert Droid Blueprints" read as "Advanced Droid Blueprints"?
Since the progression is (novice ->) Intermediate -> Advanced -> Expert -> Master (-> Master DE)
From intermediate to advanced is the 67200 xp (or just over 203 x 331).
Then, you gain the Advanced Droid Frame in Advanced Droid Blueprints

Unless, of course, where you say "expert..." you mean the train up to expert.

Beautiful guide! As a non-DE looking for information on droids in order to maximize what I get while minimizing my DE's frusturation with me, this guide was a godsend. Just one request and one complaint

Request: Screenshots of the different droids would be lovely. Pretty please? I'm one of those people who will go with a lesser droid if it looks better Unfortunately, I only know the looks of a few droids -- the R models, the MSE droids, and the Protocol droids. How can I decide what will best go with my outfit and mood (I'm an Entertainer ) if I don't know what the droid looks like?

Complaint: In Section 2, Part 2, when you explain the combat ratings....the R model droids are on the original list of droids that can take combat modules, but you don't give the equation for max/min damage. I was debating getting a combat droid (read: bodyguard/bouncer), and was thinking of an R model...but I have no idea what the damage on those suckers are! -pouts-

Alright, now that I've gotten out my daily dose of airheadedness...once again, I must say this is a beautiful guide. It's going on my bookmark list, and I'm sending the link to my DE. And telling my DE to send it to any other customers she might have. So that she doesn't have to spend an hour talking to them (like she did to me yesterday, trying to convince me that 5 entertainer droids with storage space just wasn't the way to go...now that I see the extent of droids, I agree wholeheartedly with her. My request looks rather foolish in the light of my newfound knowledge) about what they want. Only a few minutes or so to help them iron out any wrinkles from their requests.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your feeback Crymsan.

Request: Take a look at one of the Player Websites listed in Section 6. Both are set up very nicely and show what each droid looks like.

Complaint: The Astromech listing is for the R-series droid.

BTW, many thanks to you for taking the time to pass along the knowledge provided here. The more people that know about this thread, read what they find, and pass on the knowledge, the less time is needed for a Droid Engineer to repeat it.

Oooh, thank you for pointing those out. On to suggestions based on my newfound knowledge to try and help you make your guide even more brand-new-droid-user-friendly...

You might want to put a link or two up IN section 1 when you list the droids...just my personal opinion however...so that people can see what droids you're talking about without having to scroll down to section 6 to realize there are images on the web

Also...putting in "Astromech (R-unit):" for those of us silly enough to miss it (yes, I am hitting myself over the head at this very moment for showing such foolishness to the masses...) would be very helpful...changing how you refer to something can confuse us easily confused types
