I saw this issue pop up in the shipwright forum, of all places:
-NEW- [Storage Droid Issue] -NEW-
Currently, if you call a storage droid inside of a structure, you will lose the ability to open the droids storage compartment and access its contents. In order to correct this, store the droid, exit the structure, and recall the droid. You should then be able to use it normally.
The SW correspondent said it was in a "knowledgebase" somewhere.

I have 5 droids, all filled to the brim with valuable so I freaked when I couldn't open the storage in any of them. So I put in a CSR ticket. They got back to me very quicky, saying very matter-of-factly that you cannot access the droid storage compartments from inside buildings (as mentioned here in this thread).

Thank you everyone. I was able to get into my droids after all.
I want to note another bug that I encountered but did not try to repeat. I called my droid inside a building, left it out, then shuttled off planet. When I got to the next planet, it would not let me call any droids saying I could not control that many. All of the "Call" options were still there, I was hoping one would say "Store", but no luck.
Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, I have had that happen before. I couldn't call any other droids, and the "store" option wasn't on the other one. However, I could "call" the one that I left out. This then cleared up everything.
