I apologize if this has been brought up already, but I have a great idea for protocol droids. If the devs totally wiped every existing, and future player of every language they have learned from someone else (to what they originally had when they started the game) and made it impossible for other players to teach languages as it is now, would TOTALLY give protocol droids a kickass market! I think it would be awesome to be talking to a Wookiee, and seeing the garbled language, THEN have my protocol droid interpret for me. Now, before all the wookiee's go into an outrage that nobody will understand them, further messing up their species, keep in-game /tells in english. That way, if all else fails they can still communicate. Learning languages for YOUR character should be a very SLOW process. I dont mean for your characters ability to speak and comprehend other languages to be taken out totally, but some other means insteadof learning it in 2 seconds would be awesome IMO. Plus, the smugglers underworld tree bonuses tolanguages would actually be something to be somewhat excited about.

Again, sorry if this has already been discussed, but tell me what you guys think about this. Do you think it would be too extreme to totally take out Basic as an automatic spoken language from all races (except human, of course, this also with the assumption that it can still be LEARNED by your character, just in a different slower way.)? If you think about it, even in KOTOR your character is surprised when you enter the lower cantina in Taris, that Mission Vaio speaks intergalactic basic. Thats kind of proof that not every alien knows basic.
