I use storage vendors with the knowledge that they might eat the stuff on there, so I tend to put the mundane stuff on there (components and such) and keep resources/valuable stuff in houses/factories.
Its like, I understand why devs cap item storage in houses (so the server doesn't get overloaded from packrats), but at the same time, we desperately need the space for all the components we need! If the devs ever decide to change the vendor system and make it so we can't use them for storage, I'd be up a certain creek in a leaky boat with no paddle.

It was a box vendor, it wasn't suppossed to rotate.
After server reset, it wasn't back. /sigh

Oh no.
If I were on Scylla, I'd offer you half my resources.
Heck, if you move to bloodfin, I'll still do it. I'm Arve on bloodfin.

I actually tried that Mal, with some crappy resources to test it.
My crate vendor is about 5 feet from the other vendors old location, I can't retrieve from that one. I also made another vendor, even named it the same, and put it in exactly the same spot as the old one, then tried it. No luck.
So those merchants never got their stuff back?

The one guy I remember of who talked about it in any detail said he continues to "relist" the items on the non-existent vendor every time they drop back into the stock room and had been doing so for a very long time. Said he continues to relist them because he finds it amusing. He never did get his stuff back, but I don't know how hard he pushed the CSRs. The CSRs seem to be trained to be initially stubborn and obstinate in my opinion and one has to keep pushing to get traction on most issues (without being rude or unreasonable of course) because of it.
You've definitely got proof that the items exist, which should give you some leverage if you want to push for getting the items back.

whatever you do, don't close and reopen the ticket if you don't initially get the answer you want. just add a comment to the effect of "that's not satisfactory and this is why..." and then wait for the next CSR to repond. closing tickets and reopening tickets on the same issuewill tick them off.

Only problem is that if they get tired of the ticket (at least in my experience), they will just close it themselves anyway. So what choice do you have but to open the ticket again?
Well, I just gave up. But that is probably their desired outcome in any case. :/

if they close it on you, thenyou have no choice but to resubmit if you want to pursue. try to be nice though, and they are less likely to close it on you, is my only suggestion there. (not meaning to infer anything with that comment).

I definitly need the items back, millions worth of resources.
Like I said I bugged it, but I still can't put a ticket in, all I get is the "searching" the knowledge base thing, before I can put the ticket in.

searching the knowledge base should only take a few seconds. if i remember correctly though, getting past the search is a little counter intuitive... click around in the search window and look for what gets you past it... don't recall. isn't there a buttion that says something like "i[m done with the search and these didn't answer my question..." ??

Argh. A friend of mine has that bug and has never ever been able to enter a ticket as a result.

You can still /bug it as i'm Stuck in some kind or use the live chat from the launchpad.
From the programmer view it should be no problem to even relocate your packs from one vendor to another, if a CSR can/is allowed to do it is another problem...
Just dont give up

Yea Mal, I know that button your talking about, but it is grayed out until your search is done. I was able to "bug" it fine, just not put a ticket in. Never had a problem putting a ticket in before, of course it wasn't really important then.
