Thread: Exploiters Heroes or Villians ??
Drashk,
You explained it perfectly. Since I'm also on Flurry as is Brandy Smith aka MythicScrewedMeWillSony , I will be alert and pass this info on to other DE's I know.
Ok, I got a beef. I have been playing by the so called rules since launch. Today I joined a guild and find that the only DE selling in one of thier malls is using the massive cluster exploit. The only thing he makes is probots with everything in it and sells them for 20K. Makes sense, why buy an R2 when you can have a combat droid that does everything??? Makes it easy on the exploiter too because he only has to crank out one thing on the factory. The guy isn't even in the guild. He is a buddy of someone who needed vendor space.
I told them I didn't want to place a vendor in the same shop. I don't want something that may come back and bite me in the arse later on. I let them know that these are exploted droids. Who knows if anything will really be done or not.
This is total bull**edit**. Should I stoop to this level and make the same **edit** things? Or hope the patch makes everything right? Itmakes it easier on me!! I can save my precious Lidium and Dioxis that hasn't spawned for 6 months and just exploit everything into clusters and run abunch of factories to make the garbage modules.
I am so sick and tired of the stupid loopholes that DE's have had to wade through for months to only find the DEVs royally hose us again. Will they reallylisten this time ?
Why is anyone going to buy my probots with 2 modules when the guy sitting across the hall is sellingthe same **edit** thing with everything ???
Will the Devs end up deleting all the 'faulty' droids with excessive modules or let all the exploited ones remain like they have in the past? I hate this. What do I do? I can do the same thing, but my conscience is bugging me from doing it.
You know what's funny is i didn't even know it was an exploit till I was reading all of you here talking about it! hehe, I haven't made a droid since i found out about it... but If you want to degrade me and slander me and cause me to lose business, then please remember that those things can cause you to be banned as well...
Look, I'm here to have fun...I'm not saying this is or isn't an exploit, I DON'T CARE! There's more "exploits" out there that need to be fixed than one that causes you to stack modules and clusters, etc.... There's more out there that needs to be fixed period...want them to waste 5 days fixing a stacking problem or do you want those combat droids...I prefer the later!
Flame me, slam me, I don't care....cause me to lose money, it's your butt on the line! (no Mr. Almighty DEV that wasn't a threat; simply pointing out the TOS, rules, etc...)
Yes, I'm expecting more flames but I don't care...I've got more to worry about...I want all the DE changes like the rest of you, and if you notice I don't post much on the boards...all I wanted was the whiners to quit whining! That's what turns me away from this game...I honestly don't even know why i posted here in the first place...I read the boards for information, i usually steer clear of the whining....but something compelled me to read it...sorry for the ranting but I can't help it....i hear it all the time, i'm tired of it, I'm fed up with it...why have all my friends from the first week of release left? it's because of the whining and crying! (and the broken stuff and bugs!) Come on folks! No wonder people are leaving left and right? can't we agree on something? Can we go one day without bashing someone else? Can't we go one day without whining?
Yes, I'm on Flurry! Yes my chars name is Brandee Smith! Yes I am a Master Droid Engineer, a Master Artisan, a Master Architect, and a Novice Merchant, if you got a beef with me, bring it to me in game...don't commit slander, libel, and character defamation...and yes I have a lot of DE friends too!(again, not a threat Mr. DEV, just a statement!)

A couple things here. First most people have quit due to the BROKEN stuff in the game. Something that has made 99% of the Droid Engineering community to quit is exactly what you don't want us whining about. Which leads me to my second point. I believe I am speaking for the bulk of the DE community that would like to see the stinking cluster exploit fixed before anything else. It makes the Master DE's useless. Most of us DO agree that the exploits need to be fixed before more people quit in droives (along with the other bugs). The cluster exploit is only the biggest issue we have and you call it trivial. Simple minds have simple thoughts.
Oh, and I don't think anyone slandered or committed libel againts you! LOL, you are the only guilty of doing that to yourself on this thread.

Right now, the Cluster thing isn't technically an exploit. Since the Devs haven't said anything either way, it could be an exploit or it could just be a design flaw.
Yes it has been deemed an exploit. They have stated that module stacking was intended, but that cluster stacking absolutely was not intended. I wish I had the link to the thread where the dev stated this.
From the post made by Thunderheart that is stickied....
1.) Is it a bug/exploit or intended that you can stack general module socket clusters together (allows for infinite stacking) as well how they fit into the droid. What's the word on this?
Yes it is a bug and a fix is in progress.
Lol, you posted this right before I could post this link.

I felt pretty stupid after noticing it was the first item on the first post in the sticky thread. Call me Mortimer Snerd.

I have not said anything to Libel/Slander/or Defame anyone! I will not post any further on this issue as you have already...shutting up now because fighting is not what i'm here to do...
As I have said bring it to me in game....not here....
If existing droids contain no information about how they were constructed, then it might well be non-trivial to test for droids built with the cluster bug. About the only obvious way to do it might be to evaluate every existing droid and deed to determine if a droid with those capabilities could be built in that chassis... And if there was a bug in that test, it might be Very Bad Indeed.
