oh, yes...one more thing: you can't request a stimpack while incapacitated.

BAH!

Wasn't the incap feature something we were teased with by Q a few months ago?

If they can't do incaps, who is going to use them?

AStim-A heal is about worthless in higher level group combat.

Yea, it was a bit of a disapointment. However, look at it this way: there is no HAM cost for it's use, it's independant of a doctor with a 30m range ( doctors can't reach 30m ...only CM's ). How many times have you been in a group where the doctor was just a tad late or had run out of mind keeping up with the group's damage rate? I know I've had my fill. Remember this isn't supposed to replace a medic, but compliment them and make them more effective. If it can give themthe one more second to be able to get over to you....it's worth it.

That's very much how I'm seeing this module right now. The 'save the day' situation. I've been incapped myself many times this way and also been a CM that really could have used this droid on many hunts.

....back to it...

ok, more testing done, and good news. I made an R3 with 6 stim modules (all about 88% on storage and 33% on speed or so). It stored 480 or so stim chargesand the delay timer was down to right about 2 seconds... definately useful.

Wow that's pretty cool Jenden. Is that 33% experimentation on speed?

I wonder if you tell the droid to stim you right before you incap if it'll still heal you. That'd be useful....if you get the timing right...

2 SECONDS?

WOW!

Thinking about it more, and seeing we have two items to experiment on (storage/speed) I can definately see some use for extra DE Experimentation points now. I like the way this is going....

How long does it take an R3 to travel 30m?

Maybe we can push for a way to experiment a droids travel speed up to? Tie it to Droid Quality, maybe....

I'm happy my extra 2 experimentation points are going to be somewhat useful now.

From customer reports though, I was under the impression that experimenting on Droid Motive systems already effected speed to some extent?

yea, the 33% was on speed. Not sure how much faster you an make it really. I don't think it will stim you even if you ask for one right before an incap, because as it is now it seems like the action of healing actually goes through you, the droid just makes it possible... Whenever you get a heal it says "you have healed yourself for..." and it also seems to be affected by your combat queue (haven't had enough of a chance to test this to have real good details).

Quick question if anyone has tried it. I know thta you can't request while incap'd, however alot of times I goto heal just as I'm incap'd and get the "you can't heal while incap'd" message. If you request a pack and you get incap'd will the droid still come over and heal you or does it work off the same idea as healing yourself.

I can check but I'm doubting it will. The droid doesn't seem to have a queue of heals waiting, if it can give you one when you ask for it it does, otherwise you have to ask again when it is in range or ready to stim again. I think I've got the combat queue thing that was confusing me figured out.

It seems that requesting a heal is just like healing yourself, in that it will be entered into the combat queue if your in combat, otherwise it will work immediately (assuming no one else has tied up the delay timer). If you get yourself incapped, all of your items in your combat queue are emptied (including requesting a stim).

My question is does the person -requesting- the stim have to have novice medic to use it?

If not, I am going to be buying a couple of the maxed out ones and keep them stocked up because this would be a godsend for certain professions who have to drop medic to get good defenses

You do NOT need novice medic to request a stimpack.
