Thread: Petition to developers: Droid Engineer Exp all droid engineers please respond
I agree that something needs to be done to make DE's more useful in the beginning. While I have no problem with the xp and amount of time it takes to advance, its the fact that there is such a limited amount you can do with novice DE. I'm actually getting people to buy my mouse droids (though I've refunded some people when I found that the medical modules were'nt working and they couldn't store stuff) and been enjoying it, but I don't think that will last for another couple hundred mouse droids....

I amcombattrained person and since I have purchased a little tracking droid,my curiousity on how the little thing works was triggered.....and so here i am taking up the part time course in Droid Engineering from the Naboo ImperialUniversity as a hobby....
Ok..enough of RP, I understand its almost monstrous to obtain that 48000xp just to be a novice, but do take in the longivity of this game into account and honestly, Ifeel that to "grind" for all days is not the "right" way to play this game. We are suppose to "live" in it and enjoy as part of the Star Wars universe, not just to "powergrind". Anyway to each his own.
PS..I do my grinding when waiting for shuttles or resting in camp or cantinas...
Castorius is 100% right.
You don't have patience, get outta my profession.
NO ONE in the world was born a C.E.O.
Dedication, and patience. If you want to "Grind" your a$$ to the top, so be it. Just do it in another profession.
I played EQ, I powerleveled characters, only to see them be TOTAL gimps at the high-end game. The DE is meant to be a long, hard road. It is not meant to be a skill that you can waltz into, master, and flood the market with useless, "Generic" Androids.
EVERY one of my customers gets 100% what they WANT, I make no "generic Droids" (Save for the 100,000 or so MSE droids I cranked out).
Market yourself, make friends, use the system.
I personally know castorius, he is a probably the best DE I have ever met. Always behind, always busy, he puts customers first.
So yeah, it's right. Yeah, it's working. Yeah, it's here to stay. Do it, or go kill stuff with a rifle.

I just got DE recently and then i found out it wasnt so good. whats the point of having DEs if everyone can have droids. We need a fre DE only droids. Also if CHs can have 3 pets why cant DEs have multiple droids? Its not like the droids are stronger then some pets. i hope they fix it soon.
I agree with the previous posters ... BAH to all of you! Wah, mommy, DE is so hard! Please, make it trivial for me to master!
Droid Engineers make things that are truly useful. Only DEs can make items that let you heal next to the Tusken Camp. Only DEs make items that let you create high-quality food in your camp.
Seen a Probot lately? They easily solo Banthas. Perhaps that's worth a little time and effort.
Can't sell your mouse droids? Have you even tried? I was selling R5 units last night that didn't even have any modules. Did I tell the people that? Yes. Did they care? Nope. They thought the R5 units were cute enough to fork over 2000 credits.
These things bend the rules. And, there's a cost associated with that.
Don't like it? Go pursue Scout.
All of you quit your crying. This profession is great.
The two people against making improvements to this profession are the most angst filled. If you are happy with the current state fine. If and when improvements are made, they shouldn't affect your enjoyment at all. They will be icing.
I don't agree with making the tree XP less. But I want to see improvements with the profession. If you are completely happy with it in its current state, there is not much reason for you to even post in this thread is there?
Quit hating your fellow DEs.
Agreed...too much mindless clicking. Not enough fun.
How about some quests where an NPC asks you to make a few droid parts for good experience?
I hate the idea of harvesting 17,000+ metal to make a bunch of stuff that I'll just have to destroy because there's no value in the thing I'm making. If I could at least recycle my finished pieces for a portion of the original investment, that might make it a little more tolerable. But even if I have all the resources I can't just click through the monotony to get to tier 1. I have to make the droid and either bank or delete the droid. It makes the exercise seem even MORE fruitless.
The instant I hit novice droid and realized how many MSEs were in my future I became very sad. I regretted the decision, feeling like I should have stuck it out a little longer and gone with architect. At least you can make stuff people ar interested in.

Just got Novice DE last night. I was sadly disappointed to find that I got no UXP and the storage units did not work. Also, it's a pain to reprogram them every time they're stored.
Devs, help us please!
The only people that seem to be happy with droids at all are the people who don't build them.
Leatherwulfe,
Well, by the time you read this post, I'll be a noviceDE so I am vested in this discussion. ![]()
I am all for making the profession better. Hell, I would love toable to have control more than one droid, orhave droid decay tocreate more demand, etc, etc..
I just see that some people are not looking at the long term (and how cool the potential would be for our class), might be powerleveling and not having fun.
The other two posters made me realize that I was "going down the dark path" myself. I have full confidence in the devs that they know what they are doing and are listening. I think they probably listen more to the community then almost any other companies I know of.
My issue is that a petition is all fine and good, but some of the posts are starting to look like powergamer bellyaching to me, and are unfocused and introducing multiple points that are not the original thread post, the main discussion which is leveling XP.
