You'll find there's a lot of that going on.

For instance, probots were nerfed from CL16 to something like CL6 shortly after release. This was done because they were considered too strong for new characters... But at the SAME time, they suddenly allowed any player to use an animal pet, with a limit of CL15, I believe, thus giving us a double-whammy. It's probably not due to a malicious intent, although when you put all the pieces together, any part-time tinfoil-hat wearer will get suspicous.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

Nay, it's more important to see where the DE has come from and where it has, er, well, ummm, hmmmm, well it's still where it started.

I honestly have to say that my current holo profession of Droid Engineer is by far the 2nd most worthless thing that can be done in this game... 1st most is Merchant.

When I first was told that I should master DE, I got alittle excited because of what I've been hearing about upcoming droid changes but after reading the posts in this board about what they propose... bah.. I'll drop DE 2 minutes after I master it. This game has no forseeable end to being **edit** wars and I have to participate in the whole creature thing just so I can do missions solo since I do a lot of my playing late at night after most people have gone to bed. Can't wait til I can drop this worthless profession and get my pets back so I can be effective in combat...

Man, I was in from Beta 2. It started off bad, which was to be expected. They turned on the crafting and everything was broken. They fixed this and that, and made some changes to the droid stuff. 'We're still not happy with it,' they said, and there was more talk of how it could be changed, this or that could be done differently. We were quite eager, really, to have something done. Lots of ideas flowed on the beta boards. Fixes for professions came and went, with mild changes to DEs. Then they announced it would go live, and they said 'We're still on it, this has to be fixed, obviously.' Months went by. The Probot was nerfed, then mildly un-nerfed. We started getting promises in August, then every month after that it was one of the next big things. And it hasn't been, time after time.

We have moved since it's started, but not far. While other professions have been boosted up onto their speeders and have taken off, we were forced to limp behind as an overweight blind Bothan until one of the developers came along with a lead pipe and got all Tanya Harding on our kneecaps. And worse, they lined up on the sidelines to cheer for us, saying they'd run and grab us a doctor or at least some gatorade to help keep us going, but knowing we're blind, they stayed put and just kept cheering. It's not much more thanmockery now.

I swear I wasn't this cynical a year ago...
