This is my first time I post at these forums. I honestly wanted my first post to be a constructive one, but I´m simply not able to do that right now.
This post from Q and todays public crafting station stealth nerf is the final blow.
Its said here all before - but I have to repeat it just to make clear there are more silently suffering DEs in the shadows lurking.
The whole dev post is one huge slap in the face.
You really have the nerves to ask us again, what we would like to see, when its all here for months now ? Great threads with construcive discussions, loads and loads of suggestions to everything you need to know.
You show you don´t even know the basic things about this profession (announcing a repair kit for artisans when there´s a non-functional repair module to be fixed).
I apologize to everyone still having the patience to post constructive things here, but right now I´m not sure, what the more promising approach is: being constructive or simply flame.
I feel like Marcellus Wallace in the backroom gagged and bent over, but in a parallel universe, where Butch has taken the easy way out and Zed and his friend have their fun with me over and over again.
If I read one more of this crap posts from the Devs, I'Ll most probably cancel my subscription.

My kudos to Sintrosi and all the other people on this board, who did such a wonderful job putting all the constructive stuff together. This is a great community, that maybe only long-time suffering can bring together. I just wished we could all celebrate together here, when this profession finally will be fixed in a few weeks. Imho the chances are not only slim, they are almost non-existent. What a shame.

I would like to echo the sentiments of this person. there are at least 2 devs who should be fired, because they are obviously not doing their jobs, or perhaps you could just kick them in the crotch a few times? that would be fine too.

The possible choices for termination would be:

Droid engineer dev. For over 4 moths now, not a single thing has been implemented to help DEs. you must get up very early in the morning to not do so much, and still tell us that stuff is coming for us. I salute you sir.

Chef Dev: wow, a career that is just like doctor! But Not! you must be quite proud that the only profession more pointless than us is them, but i guess they have the tatooine sunburn, thats better than anything we could make.

Pikeman Dev: wow, just wow.

Take your pick, these people must have been on vacation for 4 months or something, i'm really happy that you guys were able to do so little and still get a paycheck, i hope i can get payed to do nothing someday.

This is an absolutely stellar (pardon the pun) example of why DEs are so displeased with the state of our profession. This was discussed MONTHS ago (15-Aug-2003). If you read it again, you'll even see that Q-3PO said things like:

"We’re adding more power ups and buffs to droids, but we currently don’t plan to make modules hot swappable. The concern here is we want to encourage specialization with droids, not make every droid able to perform every function. This specialization actually helps the crafting market".

Great. Has that happened yet? Let me check. Nope. How about this one:

1) There are currently no inherent functions built into a droid. Add features and functions to different droids to make them each more distinct from each other.

We’ve made some changes as of the last patch, and have many more in the works. We like some of the ones you suggested in the email. What types of droids would you like to see in addition, and what functions would they have?

Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No. To be honest, I'm surprised they haven't deleted this thread. This is absolutely a prime example of the level of disregard of the DE profession we are complaining about. And better still, this is probably the first documented example of SOE asking us what we wanted when what we wanted was already posted all over the boards well before this question was even asked. And Q did it again too:

4) Variation in Combat Droids – Combat Droids are too similar, and could use more variation.

We agree. What kind of Combat Droids would you like to see?

How about ANY, Q? Yeah, I think ANY is a fair answer. And don't tell me you count the DZ-70. And of all of the statements that frost my shorts, here's my favorite:

5) Droid Repair Issues – There is no mechanism in place to heal the white bar of a droid. Is droid perma-death going to come about?

We are going to add a repair kit for droids crafted by Artisans. Your droids will be able to heal with these.

I just love this one. Definitely plus points for the smiley. I think they would tell me today that they did in fact fix the Repair Module to do this job instead of a repair device. Yeah, kinda sorta, but you still cannot repair your own droid, nor can it repair itself, and that only covers repair, not Vitality (which was not an issue at that point in time) or damage (as opposed to wounds). Yeah, pet stims were working for a while, but I think that's over now. (Question to TH and Q: if Droids are so different than pets that the development effort to fix them is so much harder and is not on the simple hotfix level, why did Pet Stims ever work on them guys? Anyone care to answer that doosey?)

At this point, like someone posted in another thread, I am too tired of this to be angry about it any more. I still play DE because it is in my mind better than anything else or nothing at all. I just wish they'd stoptelling us "it's coming" and deliver on any one of their "we're going to give you x" messages.

Thanks Q-3PO. Looking forward to the changes. I know these things take time. I will say a big thanks for the VERY quick fix for the "stealth nerf" of the droid crafting station issue. I see that is has been fixed with the update today. That shows the DEV's really do listen and can implement things quickly when needed.

Since, I forgot. I do want to add a couple of things. I think that a droid should be able to equip some of the items if it can store items. Obviously, R2 can't wear bone armor (just like a wookie); however, a probot could get a personal shield byequipping a personal shield generator.

It's just a thought. It might make some of the ideas in our previous post more feasible. Stuff like surgical droids administering stimpacks.

ADD REPARE KITS???? They were already there! You took em' OUT! I have one sitting on the floor of my house at this very moment that I made 3 months AGO! Yet today I cant make one. If you don't belieave me I will give you the coordnates to my home on the Bria server on Corilla and show you.

But droid repair kits never, ever worked. They were removed because they were pointless... Oddly enough, when the 'Droid Customization kit' came out, SOMEONE in the communication chain got confused and the word went out that repair kits were being fixed!
