Thread: Droids: Where we were and where we’re going.
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you visited any major city recently? The spam from AFK macros is horrible. My ignore list is growing exponentially as it now. At least players names don't change, droids are expendable and will change constantly. Please think long and hard about this one and consider the following scenario:
You exit the shuttle in Coronet City andwander outside into the warm sunshine only to be greeted by hundreds of Merchant Barker droids screaming
"Krayt Pearl for sale. Send Tell to...."
"Come visit my shop located at....."
"For the best weapons visit....."
Not mention the greifing factor. "so and so ripped me off" "such and such PA sucks" and so on.
Not everybody is willing to place their character in AFK mode but everybody would be willing to plunk down a droid and log off for the evening. At minimum give us a setting to ignore the barking....for the love of god.
This looks very good except for one thing. Using combat modules should not mean the a R3 is the strongest possible combat droid. The R3 can hold 6 modules where a probot can only hold 2.
I suggest that the general droid module cluster not be able to hold combat modules.Add a combat droid module cluster. The combat cluster can hold 3 combat modules. The advanced Probot can hold 2 combat clusters, probot and advanced D270 can hold each hold one and no other droid (atleast till more combat droids get added) can hold any combat cluster modules.
Also, shouldn't the covert detector module be the covert detector DETECTOR module?

Do we want the Exploding Module?
I do... I love the idea of sending in a mouse droid and blowing it up... kinda like payback for having to grind those little suckers.

I hope its not going to be a constant spamming droid. TH did mention that there will be a radial menu to access the droid. Also since there is a cert for the entertainer droid there will probably be a cert for this droid. I would assume master merchat or Efficency IV
Months worth of development time and those are the ideas that you think you can implement. Of all the modules listed for consideration those are 4 of the worst modules you could have picked.
I guess the power indicator and battery life extending are good ideas though.
How can you possibly build a publish around FOUR modules ?
My 45 dollars a month (3 accts)says you need to do better than that. Like, ALOT better.
Where are the survey droids, the remote harv access droids ? You know, the droids that will make my gaming less like work and more like gaming. That is what you need to focus on, not eye-candy. We have more than enough eye candy thank you very much, what we desire is SUBSTANCE.
*drool*
Looks great
I really really really like the new utility droid modules.
... and thanks for specifically letting US know hehe =)
(Though by tomorrow, someone will probably think of someoddity, so I'll just let it rest at "So far, so good"...)
Are those utility modultes you mentionedit? Or are there others you aren't telling us about? I suppose these things are hard to implement, like you have mentioned before. But for saying you are focusing a whole publish on utility droids that list seems very underwhelming (to me anyway).
As a suggestion, myself, and lots of others would like droids that help with harvesting (remote maintenance, changing harvested material remotely, remote emptying of harvester, etc).
