Respect needs to be earned. I'm looking at their Report Card, and it scored "Worthy of Contempt".

OK, JustG - I keep the dogs on their leashes for now... no flames, or rants.

But I beg of you, follow through this time, and make it happen. Talk is cheap - and devs are expensive, I know. The ironic thing is - what DE's want isn't like what commando's want (to be uber, and no offense to commandos) - we just want to make cool stuff for all. Don't evaluate this profession like you do the combat ones, or even WS - it is in a realm of it's own/

A snootty response is still a response, and that is a very good thing. Thanks JustG.

I have to wonder, though. I thought the whole idea of combat droidswas dead, as a result of overwhelming public opinion.Since you mention the inpending arrival of <10 combat droids in your post, I find it neccessary to state the same old tired fact. Personal combat droids are not Starwars. Period.

There is not one instance of a private citizen owning a combat/battle droid in all the starwars universe. This included the bantam and del rey books, dark horse comics (befor they went rouge) and all the movies. Where are you getting this idea from? While I am not a big fan of the CH profession, at least there is a basis for its existence. There are any number of pets, big and small, portrayed through-out the SW universe. But NEVER any personal/private combat droids. UTILITY DROIDS is what the people want. Skip DE all together untill P8 if you must. But don't give usesomething that is so not starwars.

Wrong!

Han Solo at Stars' End features a fight between a gladiator droid named the Mark VII (I think) and Bollux, the general-labor droid working with Han Solo at the time. Bollux was sort of passed off as a gladiator droid owned by the Entertainment Guild act supposedly sent there(Solo and his comrades). Apparently the CSA boss of this prison outpost (Star's End) regularly had other folks coming there with other gladiator droids and doing the BattleBots thing.

So, Jemelby, I'm afraid that privately owned combat droids are actually more common in the EU than Rancors walking around in heavily populated areas. Not as commonas beasts of burden, though...I still like my Kaadu for boppin' around town.

First of all, Thank you JustG.

I guess we'll see what happens in the next couple publishes. As you can see, most of us are extremely bitter. We've been getting told "oh your next, your next!", then keep on getting pushed back. We were scheduled for fixes in December, then January, finally got a couple in February but no where near what we were expecting.

Don't let us down, the DE community has waited patiently but our patience is running out quickly.

Didn't that book take place in the Corporate Sector (which is outside the Empire)?

They change it for you. please dont tell me you have been ignored, you ARE getting what you want, and your getting plenty of attention from the reds.

You are getting your attention. You are getting your way. Please stop flaming and continue to remain constructive (I know you have been in the past TK421) and things will continue to work in your favor

You are right and you are wrong. It is true that they post here often. It is true that they throw us plenty of bones. Butso far it has been fairly empty talk, platitudes and little of substance.

We as a community want our proffesion fixed. We want the bugs worked out. We want what is one of the 3 completely broken professions to be repaired. What we are getting is new content, which will still be broken unless they adress the major outstanding issued that have received 0 attention. Now the Utility work that is promised is certainly a step in the right direction, but we practically had to scream to get them to see this. So long as they don't go back on their word, or if they have no choice they at least let us know.

That's where the jaded attitudes of so many of the DEs comes in.

But for what it's worth, while I understand the frustration, I agree that keeping it constructive is the way to go.
