No one is protesting, I simply wonder if you still stand by all your statements in this thread, and wondering if you still think everyone should play happy-smile-kumbya - when every hour a new DE is posting how with this patch they are quitting the profession.

Well...I can tell you that I see some people dropping and I see just as many 'stepping up'. I note the increase in DENet interest via the fact that many servers now have such a thing that is up and running (or working toward it).

And...I know that several larger droid shops on Ahazi have closed. The old-timers and veterans are throwing in the towel. That's cool..............................more sales for me.

Again, am I happy with EVERY thing they have decided to roll out? No.

Do I think that being unhappy about it (and going back to where I was awhileback) will help that to change?

No.

Do you?

You talked the talk in this thread, yet I haven't seen you walk the walk - that's why I was wondering if you still believed what little gnorts tell you or if you realized your ombudsmanship for what it was.

And what "walk" is that you're waiting for me to take? I haven't been about a ton lately, quite honestly, because I've spent more time in-game, having fun, than here on the boards.

Were you waiting on me to roll out some kind of plan or posts that would somehow save the day?

I'm really confused Audio. What is it, exactly, that you're asking of me here?

As to the "old" Audio, I'm not sure what you have projected upon me but I have not changed in the least. I simply speak the truth as I see it.

Well, as stated above, I'm not the only one that has requested the return of the 'old Audio'. So, I'm not an island, in that regard. I also speak the truth as I see it.

Do I still believe that we will be in a better place on the other side of these publishes? Yes.

Do I believe that we will have the smoothest sailing in the world as they roll out? No.

Have you ever heard of that happening with any profession overall/update (of the size we are getting)?

TK, I use to really appriciate reading your posts on the boards. You made the comment if you dont like being a de why are you here. Frankly because just like you we all pay the same amount to soe to deliver a product that we wish to play. As he certainly has the right to be very pissed at the lack of anything done by the development team, or there limited vision and delivery falling drastically short of anyones expectations, you have the right to compliment there efforts if you feel thats the right thing to do.

Frankly your the reason i dropped de and dont come here anymore. Not sure why you started the love fest with thunder and what was said to have you blindly support there lack of vision an effort but so be it.

As i said i use to really appriciate your well thought out posts regarding de, Now i just shake my head when i read your posts, havent seen one in a long time from you that had anything to do with content, only defending the dev stand and how the neg feelings are destroying this community.

Frankly, the negativity isnt destroying the community, the lack of follow thru and committment on soe part is. Not only the community but the game.

Dont take my word for it show me one single review that hasnt rated this game and delivery of the expectations below any other game on the market.

And say what you want about me being here, there is only one single reason i am and will be for 5 more months, I PAID FOR THE RIGHT.

Hopfully this game will actually still be around then, although i seriously doubt it with the number of people quiting and cancelling there accounts day after day.

Sorry Tk, but putting somone down for being pissed or asking them to leave is no better then them telling you to tfu with you touchy feely attitude. So dont put them down for there feelings or tell them they dont have the right to express there opinions the way they want, just like you expect to be able to express yours the way you want.

People...

All he's asking here is that we try to be more upbeat and constructive on these forums. Either listen to him or don't. He's not demanding people "get in line" and "bend over" and take everything we're dealt.

We can all get caught up in the moment, and I've been a little negative about this recent patch too. But as these boards get more and more negative, they are less likely to be interesting to read (for DE's orfor the Devs).

If you check Drashk's most recent post, the Probot has been bumped up quite a bit, something like 990 HAM, 100 Damage. This is good news.

Publish 7 will be the "make or break" publish for me as a DE. If it doesn't get any more fun to play, I'll drop it,and take up killing for a living. With Drashk's most recent post, things are looking up a bit.

But sitting here, stewing in our angst, will only make things worse in these forums for everybody.

I don't think Audio's tone is negative. I think he's dead-on a lot of time with a sober attitude about where this profession is heading as we get closer and closer to a year without an real improvements.

You mean when I used to be more 'ranty'?

You made the comment if you dont like being a de why are you here. Frankly because just like you we all pay the same amount to soe to deliver a product that we wish to play.

Well...I would frame that as: We get to play the product that SOE makes (if one chooses to pay, that is). We can try to aid them to make it better but they will always do what THEY feel is best. If that means they can give us what we want, they will. If they can't, then they won't (and we'll just have to deal with it).

As he certainly has the right to be very pissed at the lack of anything done by the development team, or there limited vision and delivery falling drastically short of anyones expectations, you have the right to compliment there efforts if you feel thats the right thing to do.

Uhhhh......do you not think that I have been (and still am) pissed about a lot of things DE?

I hope you're not confusing my attempt to have a better tone on the DE boards with"We should just shut up and take what they shove down our throats". There's a HUGE difference there.

No, I'm not ecstatic by a lot of the choices that the Dev team makes.

In that regard, I havea few choices:

1) Cancel

2) Change professions

3) Sally forth and be the best DE that I can be (within the limitations and systems put forth by the Devs)

Frankly your the reason i dropped de and dont come here anymore.

Uhhh...why? I ask in all seriousness. I certainly don't want to turn anyone off from being a DE. I like being a DE (yes, despite its borked nature).

If I had something to do with you dropping a profession you like(d) and want(ed) to play...I apologize (but I have to say, that's kind of sad. I wouldn't drop a profession I enjoyed cause I didn't like one of the other players).

Not sure why you started the love fest with thunder and what was said to have you blindly support there lack of vision an effort but so be it.

/sigh

You know...this whole situation has been massively misunderstood.

What I wanted (with our without the Devs being involved) was a better tone on the DE boards. Plain and simple. If I went about it wrong, I guess someone will have to sue me or 1-star me (which is an ongoing thing for me now) or whatever.

I know there's a lot of people that apparently dislike me...I wish I could convince those parties that whatever I may have posted in the past has always been an attempt to better our situation, support other DEs or just be a general good guy. I guess I failed.

As i said i use to really appriciate your well thought out posts regarding de, Now i just shake my head when i read your posts, havent seen one in a long time from you that had anything to do with content, only defending the dev stand and how the neg feelings are destroying this community.

Well, I do believe that the negativity was playing a part in the 'destruction' of the community...that much is true (and I've seen quite a few DEs state the same). As for defending the Devs, I did no such thing.

No one has been more critical than I (in the long-term) of the Devs and the decisions they have made or not made and the level of communication (or lack thereof).

What is, exactly, that you think I'm defending....if I may ask?

Frankly, the negativity isnt destroying the community, the lack of follow thru and committment on soe part is. Not only the community but the game.

Dont take my word for it show me one single review that hasnt rated this game and delivery of the expectations below any other game on the market.

Reviews are not good indicators. I saw the TechTV X-Play review that that Adam guy did. He was sort of right on a few things (which are partially now resolved)....of course, he ran across the planet instead of taking a shuttle (idiot). There were a TON of things that they really horribly misrepresented about SWG. That continues to this day with some reviews I've read. Yes.....some of the reviews do key in on very important and serious issues. However, I have a pretty good feeling that this MMO will progress and grow better just as ALL MMORPGs do. No MMO that I've heard of has hit a grand slam right out of the gate. If you know of one, let me know.

I've seen good reviews and I've seen bad. Yes...the game can be better. All games can be. I have to say that, since launch, the game overall HAS gotten better.

For us? No, not really....

But, we're getting attention now (finally) and I fail to see how being negative will help us, in that regard.

That's all

Note: I've received quite a number of PMs and such that are 180 degrees the opposite of yours. A lot of DEs stopped coming here due to the tone of the DE boards and actually thanked me for making an effort to try to raise the bar. With all due respect, I feel like I did a good thing and now I'm getting berated over it.

That's fun.................(not).

And say what you want about me being here, there is only one single reason i am and will be for 5 more months, I PAID FOR THE RIGHT.

Uhhhh....no one ever said anything about you (or anyone else) not having the right to be here. I stated that if I am not having fun with something in-game that I try to move to something that I can have fun with...

Those two things are WAY different.

Hopfully this game will actually still be around then, although i seriously doubt it with the number of people quiting and cancelling there accounts day after day.

I expect that the number will rise back up once the SE hits. How many people stay around 2-4 months after the release of SE...that's the issue I'm waiting to see.

Sorry Tk, but putting somone down for being pissed or asking them to leave is no better then them telling you to tfu with you touchy feely attitude.

UHH.....how exactly did I "put someone down"? I'm sorry, but I just don't read that in anything that I wrote.

Maybe you can explain how you feel that I was being derogatory.

So dont put them down for there feelings or tell them they dont have the right to express there opinions the way they want, just like you expect to be able to express yours the way you want.

I think you really sort of misread what I was stating. For that, I'm sorry. I wasn't putting Audio down for being upset. As stated, there are many things that I'm still upset about...

Should I start ranting again? Is that it?

Should I start making big "DE Focus Threads" that will have NO IMPACT on our future?

You tell me what you do, Sinnare....

There's a lot of you that seem to want to lash out at me (for whatever reason). I just want you to know...it won't affect how I post or how often (regardless of the 1-star bandit that is apparently trying to bomb me into oblivion).

And i shall sign with

Well...it's a subtle difference from the Audio I've known in the past, let me put it that way.

You know, Sodan, that I've been a vocal critic of our situation (both past and present). I too feel the same pain as all of you, in terms of what the Devs have done (and not done) in this profession.

I get the impression sometimes that people think that I'm somehow now okay with all the bugs, problems and such.

That's not the case.

I would state that the Devs DO have a responsibility to step up and address issues and try to better our profession. It IS their 'baby', afterall.

While the level of info and engagement we are getting now is only very slightly better than it's been in the past...it is better (at least to me). I don't know...maybe I lowered my expectations to match what the Dev team is capable of bringing to bear in regard to our profession. Basically, I suppose I just decided "They aren't able to give us what we want...for whatever reason" and decided to go try and have fun with what IS there.

I dunno. /shrug

I am encouraged, I have to say, by the reports that Drashk has made on the new 990 HAM Probot that he made. That certainly sounds like progress to me.

I don't feel at all bad about trying to make the tone of the DE boards better. I may not like every aspect of the current state we're in (or even every direction of the future). That's when I try to sit back and remember a few things...

1) I'm here to have fun. If I'm not having fun...I'm off to do something else that IS fun.

2) I don't find it fun when the boards are 'ranty' and overly pessimistic.

3) Rome wasn't built in a day.

4) We can't name some droids....and I'm okay with it (cause I'm having fun doing, or caring about, other things).

When can we have the old Audio back? ....just curious.

TK, please stop projecting things upon me regarding my personality - as I have said, it has not changed. Unlike you, my opinions don't sway in a manic fashion.

Hmmm....my opinions haven't changed, just how I present them, I suppose. And...as stated, I'm not the only one to notice that you seem different. Sorry, I too call it like I see it.

My opinion is that:

- DE is still busted.
- DE can never likely be what we all want it to be.
- The Devs don't give us proper development time or communication (in terms of detail).

As best as I can tell, that's a lot of what you yourself state....no?

I am glad that you are happy that the verterans are leaving and can put a positive spin on things, because Ifind it utterly sad.

Actually, I'm not happy that veterans are leaving the profession. I'd far prefer to have them back, to be honest.

However, if there are going to be 'lemons' in this situation, I will try to find a way to make lemonade.

To suggest that I do not have a right to express my opinions on the state of the DE profession is laughable from someone who up until a few weeks ago was the biggest "ranter" on the boards ("Come on Devs, you knew you were getting one of my supa-famous breakdowns taking you down!". And then you got star-struck by a PM (again, nothing very rare - I've gotten Dev replies just about every time I have sent one) and came in here to shame people whowere simply being realistic as you were once upon a time.

I never suggested that you don't have a right to be here or to express your opinions. What was it I said that makes you think that I believe that? I know you've seen me about for a long time. Do you really think that I'd suggest such a farce of a notion?

Also...I'm far from star-struck, as you put it. I'm also still realistic about our future. That doesn't mean I can't try to keep my chin up.

I've never wanted to "shame" anyone here, Audio. All I wanted was to try to help the DE boards return to some kind of civil state, which I think we can all agree was not the case for some time. These boards really got to be a very ranty and negative place.

Was that a fun time? Should we try to revert to that?

Look....I know that trying to have a rosy outlook is often pretty laughable as relates to DEs and our situation. No one knows it better than I (and you, I'm sure, can agree with that).

I guess I just don't see why I'm getting lambasted for trying to ask for everyone to simply be nicer (yes, even if it was from correspondence with a Dev).

Is that wrong?

You have said several times that all kinds of people see this dramatic change in me, when I think you need to look in the mirror.

I have, believe me. I'm having a lot more fun now that I focus on having fun in-game (despite the borked aspects) and try to focus on what's good.

True, I could focus on the bad...but it always seems to aggravate me more and bring me down. I don't want to go back to that 'place'. I'd rather try to have fun.

The reason I questioned this thread is because you talked a great talk about positivity yet it's all frickin' talk.

What do you mean? What else exactly should I be doing (posting-wise) that wouldn't be just talk?

I ask that in all seriousness and without sarcasm. I really do respect your opinion, Audio. You're a forum-goer / DE that I really look up to, to be honest.

I know you think I've changed...and you're probably right. I try not to...and when I catch myself doing something silly that mimic your comments about me, I try to make it right.

Again, apparently, I've failed.

Just as I said at the time, it was rhetoric - as soon as I challenged you to actually DO something positive instead of TALK about the state of positivity you disapeared, and I have yet to see any actual result from your reverse-ranting.

That's because I've been in-game, most likely.

I've been in a more lurking mode lately, taking in all the ideas and details and such.

Again, seriously, what is it exactly that you're calling on in terms of 'action' on my part? As best as I can tell, all that any of us are ever doing here really only amounts to 'just talk' (irregardless of whether it's best idea ever posted or the most flame-filled rant ever produced). Is that not the case?
