Thread: DE Plan CONCERN Thread

- having a combat droid that only a DE can use changes DE from a crafting profession to a hybrid crafting/combat profession. I think that is lame. If we can build them, anyone should be able to use them.

- should require components made by a weaponsmith to build the weapon modules. if WS could make any of their weapons "droid-able" that would be cool.

Ok, since the DE Plan thread is going to explode in size and I dont want to sift through 30+ posts on Monday to get your concerns, please post ONE OR TWO SENTENCES per concern about what the plan says.

My main concern is that these 'ideas' (this is *not* a plan) are quite obviously not the product of real crafters on live galaxies. They emphasize combat and combat support features of dubious merit over the more mundane issues of:

a) fixing the bugs that already exist,
b) establishing repeat business economy for noncombat droids and,
c) providing purpose for combat chassis that already exist (why would anyone *really* buy a DZ70?)

Sup, I usallu dont post on the forums, I just stop by and read the new popular posts a few times a week...usally I just sit here and read the DE boards and only getpissed off even more. I mean, by the time I read the post, the chances are that someone else has already posted my concern/idea, but...this time Im really pissed, so I decided to drop a few lines...

CONCERN: My concern is that the FACT that we as DEs have ONLY SEEN 2 FU*KING THINGS ADDED SINCE THE RELEASE OF THE GAME! One of them being the GD probot nerf and another being the color tool. I dont think I even have to mention what I think about the probot nerf...Now,I did like thecolor tool addition and think it was a great idea...only problem was....IT WAS ONLY3 MONTHS LATE. I find myself laughing out loud for being a DE when I read the "monthly" patch notes...seeing 3 pages of text of changes to only scroll and see that MIGHT, and i mean MIGHT IF WE'RE LUCKY, have said 5 words about us.

I mean, seriously, **edit**, all the other professions have seen ALOT OF UPDATES and we have seen jack sh*t...Just read the site, look at the percentages on just Novice DEs, we're the LOWEST played crafting class in the game including Tailor....so your telling me someone will be more useful as a fu*king tailor? Isnt this Star Wars? Isnt this a universe based on AI and Droids? I guess not....

I could care less about what was posted...I dont care about what was said about the combat modules, medical updates, 2 droids out of anything that was said because I know the changes wont be made for 6 months...All they did is repost what has already been said on these forums and said "we thinking about doing soemthing...sometime...when we get time" , oh ya, and I forgot the "it takes time, more than one team". Heres a solution...take the 14.95 we pay you each month, on top of the 49.95 we paid you for the game, and go out and hire some motherfu*ckers to DO SOMETHING becuase the 1 mexican we got now working on DEs aint cutting it. Dont say we're asking to much when we're paying to much...please. And instead of posting bullsh*t promises, spend your time actually doing something.

I honestly take the "news" as a insult..being a DE from the first week of game release.

PS: Keep up the good work Sintrosi.

This game has angered you to the point of verbal abuse, or maybe it's just the way you are. Perhaps you should play adifferent game-and Imean one not written by Mexicans.

You're an idiot.

I think I've given this enough time to expand and rant. Today I post my thoughts.

1: No mention of droid components having any effect on the final product.

2: Combat modules do what exactly? Increase damage at the distance? Focus the droid to do ONLY that range type of damage?

3: Mouse droid bombs... what a joke... deed formed droids can be called anywhere so theres a wonderful exploitable situation. Throw, explode, call new. This will make a market for a crate of bombs which is inheratly incorrect to the star wars theme as droids are not bombs. Also any "intelligent" player can easily use this setting and even a few dozen unintelligent ones.

4: There is no mention of anything being recorded that is in a droid still.

5: Droids in general need functions instead of just looking cool. MSE droids are able to do anything but probably not as well asa well built R type. Type of droid used needs to have some effect on the overall settings.

6: DZ70 needs the ability to take on a single durni, whomp rat, or something else that is considered "lower" level than it is. 45 ham's with 40 percent medium armor doesn't work as even a single hit from any creature even with 40 percent of this totally ignored does more than 60 damage.

7: Experimental propertys currently make little to no sense at all. A storage module 1 has the ability to carry 1 object. It does not get destroyed should the droid get hit. Materials inside do not decay. In "effectiveness" this module has a 100 percent resistances to damage and no materials inside ever decay. I see no mention in the plan that they intend to even think about this. Will schematics be changed in the future to list what can really be experimented on and what effect these experiments will have?

8: They mention droid functions that should of been in the game since day 1 to a limited extent. A surgical droid can heal physical wounds but not damage in my eyes. Giving them medic capabilitys is removing the medic necessity from partys. Please do not allow this to happen.

9: Giving droids an "item" to charge up does not sound proper even if it's a repair droid. Would it not be easier to get the droid to "use" some of it's HAM bars for specific actions? There is also the possiblity of these items to be overstacked for massive use all at once with this line unless a limit is put in.

10: Last one I swear. Will droids continue to consume batterys which have no charge or will power become a requirement for the battery under artisan? A battery does not come with a charge but is given one by a diffrent source.

I appoligize for #7's length. I am concerned about that one for all classes really. But as it falls under multiple professions (Medic, scout, entertainer professions for example) the quality ofa resource changes dramaticly very quicklyconsidering what you're looking for. I could see a metal which has a good overall quality being used to build a musical instrament giving the user of said item a bonus to their healing skills. The word stratavarius comes to mind however I'm not sure I spelled that right. Please bring that up with the dev's as a "general" concern Sintrosi and I would appreciate it.

Well there have been a lot of good replies here:

- Give us something to show of with....CH laugh in our face when we pull out a Probot.......I think I speak for a lot of DE's when I say: Give us Droidekas.... or some other cool type of combat droid

- another point: as DE you can't sell **edit** till you get some decent skills.....Architects can sell small houses at Novice Architect......only thing we can sell is medical mouse droids and nobody wants them anyway because you need a lot of batterys to maintain one....the only thing really wanted is a droid with a crafting station....and as you can put one in a mouse droid...nobody ever pays more for an R2 chassis or something...it has been said before in this thread, make surgical droids the only ones capable of using a medical module....

Plus the max we can earn is about 50k for a droid...give us combat droids wich use a lot of resources and are hard to craft..so we can earn some decent money.

Ok, to everyone saying that everyone should able to use the combat droids because DE is a crafting skill, think about it..

If anyone can use them without skill, they will be weak and useless. This is the whole reason probots where nerfed in the first place.

They won't let DE make a 6000 HAM med armored combat droid that everyone can use. It will make CH useless and really screw up PVP.

I sure hope that isnt that case and it would be a caseterminal stupidity. Why would we only want to be able to power one structure and lose our ability to use any other droids?

I may or may not have said this already, but: I haven't seen any sign of UXP being introduced in the Plan. Some of us casual players would still love to be able to gain experience for making droids that we actually sell and which get used, not just for how many times we can click on resources to throw them away.

Give us UXP! UXP is an excellent idea, and is one of the reasons I paid for this game. Don't throw your innovations away just because people with time to be "hardcore" players can grind their way to Master.
