Idea that probably wont get accepted.


Construction Droid


Make it huge, heavy on the resources, and a REQUIREMENT for large/advanced structures (PA halls)


This would


1. Make Droid Engineering a profitable venture


2. Create a money sink (Aparantly they want to do this)


3. Stop me from going crazy when I see buildings magically appear from within laser velvet rope things


This is only one Idea I have for changing construction (I might start a different thread...but I'm lazy)

I haven't read every post in this thread, I am just adding on to the end of it.


If you could pump some creds and power into a binary load lifter, have it go to your harvesters for you.


DE's being able to have more than one droid out at a time, based on level


Advertising droids you could leave in town (for shops obviously)


One thing that would be awsome, and its never going to happen, is if you could hack droids to be your own. Like say you see an R2 unit around, you could hack it and if successful it became yours. This is never going to happen though


As for reading other posts, people are saying stuff about DEs being able to build the swoop bike and speeder, others are saying make a new profession named mechanic, but if this new profession is made, how will it work? if you can make the speeder and bike right away whats the point of going through the rest of the tree? and if the speeder and bike are at the end, it will make the MSE bot grind, (that we've all been through), look like a joke. May as well put it into DE. Take the 4 existing tree's and combine them into three, make the third for the vehicles. At lvl 2 tier you can make the bike and at lvl 4 you can make the speeder.

I've only skimmed this list, but I have a module that I don't think has come up yet.


How about a "Herding" module. What this would do would be to quick zap an animal to make scare it off or make it non aggro. (kinda like R2 in ROTJ when he zapped that annoying little creature, whose name I can't remember right now or when he zapped Ewoks.) If you are a ranged player and you get 3 critters on you, if the droid is set to patrol automatically, it would zap one of the critters until it ran away briefly. It would then have to reset it's charge so it could only do this once, but it would give the ranged player time to concentrate on the other critters. You could add this modules to Non Combat droids, like the R series, to increase demand.


Or maybe a module to make a creature more docile so that it's DNA can be sampled by Bio Engineers. If it were powerful enough, you could convert a group of 'red' aggressive animals to 'yellow' no aggressive until you made some sort of threatening gesture or maneuver. This way, if you had your droid out, you could walk right past a group of red mobs without having to worry about the entire pack killing you, but if you attacked them, you have to be prepared for the consequences. This module would not work on humanoid characters or factionally aligned agression, so it's use islimited, but for the pure crafters out there, with little to no combat experience, it would give them a level of protection when traversing the wild.

I like the (droid) hacking idea


Haven't seen what the interface for slicing looks like but I can imagine tapping into droids and terminals to be an advanced DE / Smuggler / BH ability.


Anybody in here still remembers Paradroid? Maybe we can have something similar to simulate hacking

Logic..


Why don't we make the best combat droid in the game? The AT-ST is given away for faction points. Continuing this logic why cannot I get the best Creature Pet for faction points? We should be able to make these.... if you like the faction aspect just require something needed to operate it that is faction related. Master DE should be able to operate it regardless of faction as we would be building them. It only seems logical that we should know how to operate it. This would be one of our bonuses for making Master DE.


In the upcoming vehicles that we will get to "buy" why not make it so a droid is required to use it? Perhaps 2 of them like a R2 or R3 unit and a Protocol Droid totranslatethe galactic signal so you can just input waypoints and the vehicle just auto goes there. Might even require a power droid to charge it... thus giving it a purpose.

I would like to see a slicing module. I know there are those that think it would put smugglers out, but if droids were only allowed to slice terminals, I don't see how this would hurt smugglers much.

I think the slicing module could go two ways. You could have a slicing module to put into droids and add the ability for a smuggler to slice droids.


From the DE side of things, the slicing module should work only on terminals which would not affect the Smuggler's unique ability to slice armor or weapons. This would allow droids to increase payouts for missions which would be attractive for many. To maintain a balance the slicing module should have a finite number of uses, say 25. After 25 attempts, the module would be used up and the owner would have to buy a new droid. The modules should be stackable so that the you can create an slicing droid that lasts a while. Slicing for droids should have the same success rate as a smuggler using a flow analyzer node, which is to say about 85% of the time.


At the same time, the ability to slice any combat droids (really only probots at the moment, but everybody knows this) should be added to a Smuggler's skills. This would allow a Smuggler to increase the damage done by the droid using the same process a smuggler uses to upgrade weapons. After all, weapons on droids are only modified handheld weapons.


That being said my other suggestion would be to add a weapon module to all combat droids (again Probots). Allow us to make and build probots that have pistol type weapons, stun weapons, maybe flamethrower modules (that could only be used by some not all), or acid modules. Just allow the combat characteristics of the droid to be unique.


I love the idea of construction droids. You could make them necessary for all structures that take up more than one lot. If you want to build a house or something similar, you use your construction droid, drop the deed in, and voila, it builds your house, guild hall, etc.


Advertising droids should also be added. Let an Entertainer release an Ad droid that will fly around a 1000m radius and broadcast that they are now performing or some other event is about to happen.


Also, from a roleplaying perspective, I think a "secret compartment" should be added to allow Smuggler's to actually smuggle something. My thoughts on this have been posted in the Smuggler's forum, so I digress...


How about Droid Chefs? You could easily create a droid type that can make say foods from the Domestic Arts tree that wouldn't fringe on Chef's abilities. Of course, food would have to work...


Droids should have dozens of uses from maintenance and repair, service, messenger, combat, medicine, construction, piloting, cooking, almost anything another player could do.

Logic also tells us that if we can make a droid and beyond that make a repair droid that we should be able to repair our own droids when they are out and in use.

Sorry if anyone else has thought about this but it is such a long thread (good for so many ideas but bad to search for things already said so I dont repeat them).


Here is a module I think would be cool since we have been having the battery problem recently with droids running out of charge quickly.


How about a Solar Module that can be used to have the droid charge itself using solar energy?


This could be a Master DE module. It might not be good to destroy the battery market, so maybe it would work to have this moduleprolong time between charges of a battery instead of replace the battery entirely.


Based on the quality of solar energy on a given planet, the droid could give you it's efficiency rating of added effect to charge time. Like +23% power life on one planet or +47% on another planet.


These modules would sell like hot cakes.

I would like to see a Cryo Module that will allow a CHor a creature mount re-seller to store maybe 3 pets max per (non-MSE) droid (prefferably the BLL.

I would like to see a droid/module combo that was soley devoted to managing group battles. It would know all the locations of each team member's missions. This would allow it to differentiate between when a team member is aggro'd by a passing creature or by a creature spawned by the mission. It could read each team member's title and deduce their role in the team and provide enhancements for each. For example:



  • It, during battle, could reportwhen support members (medics, etc.) are being attacked andinform saidmedics if a team member is approaching a critically low HAM level

  • Tell thesquad leader (should be its owner) if anyteam memberhad fallen behind

  • When the team's traveling between missions, it could alert everyone if an individual member was aggro'd along the way.

  • If a team member has to clone, the droid can meet him at the cloning center and lead him (around aggro mobs) back to the squad leader.

  • Since it knows everyone's mission coordinates, it will automatically know who's mission's the closest and could even lead the team (again, around aggro mobs) to the next mission.

  • After completing the missions, it could report kill statistics and other information to allow the team to analyze their performance.

  • Its owner should be able to selectively enable or disable each of these features.

This droid should only be able to be used by squad leaders to establish that they are an enhancement not a replacement. Does this mean that this droid has only one market? Yes, however, I believe that we should havea droid or module that has something specific and unique to offer toALL of the otherplayer classes.That's what's great aboutDE.As this endless thread shows, there is absolutely no limit to what can be added to our line. Pets will ultimately have a very finite list of abilities once mounts come out.But asa famous tart once said, "Something's better than nothing, yes. But nothing's better than more!"

I saw that most of the good ideas for new droids were taken However besides the droidecai, I would think there should maybe be a tougher droid out there for artisan types. Maybe doesn't happen to others but I get whipped pretty easy. The Adv Probot just isn't near enough to really be a protector. I was fighting something that was a white con to me, and my Probot is a red con, I sent him in and he was destroyed in short order. Need something stronger. A droid to update harvs would be too cool, and could be a major help when I lost DSL for a couple days and lost harvs and such becuase of it. I had credits but couldn't log on, so droids that could do that would rock.


I think a new module should definetly be a weapon upgrade module for the probot, proportional with the armor level. As you increase armor level you should have the same chance to give them a better weapon.


Just my two cents worth.
