Hi, I'm a brand new Master DE, and I think I'm feeling the pain of grinding a proffession. My head is just swimming with all the different resources I have to have and it's giving me a serious headache.

I made my first ADV R2 Unit last night, as a test run and although it ended up very nice. It took me about 4 hours to get all the resources. I thought I had stockpiled enough but there is always some oddball resource needed.

I really have toapplaud all of you who have been doing this and making great Droids.

How do you keep track of everything? All the different resources are just crazy. So many things to watch for, OQ, PE, etc....

Any tips anyone can share? I'm at a complete loss as how to get organized.

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks

Kess

Get largue quantity of those :

- cheap copper
- good copper
- cheap steel
- good steel
- good chemical (fiberplast and polymer)

Medium quantity of
- Extrusive ore
- cheap chemical (same as above)
- good inert gaz
- cheap inert gaz.

Whatever you can of named resource.

Keep the named resources in a separate container.
Pick them only when you need them and put them back right after you use them.

its lot easier when you get used to what you need, certain types of metal for different parts and any metal for others best way bring up schem of a part like a medical unit and see which aluminum it needs then find a stack. also get yourself equipment factory this saves lot hassle as a master when your not after crafting xp. crates of advanced droid brains and normal droid brains good idea since they used in combat modules and combat socket sets.

While it would be great to stock 100-300K of of each resource, when your a beginning DE, it's just not possible! hhehe

To stay organized, I keep everything in my backpack that i need to make a droid out in the field. This includes 40+ different resources (i put a cargopack in a backpack, to seperate the 'good' from the 'bad'). That backpack is on my back. I have a second backpack full of the commonly used parts, droid brains, motivators, arms packages, sensors... and some of the common modules. I end up with 10-20 free items slots in my inventory at any given time As well as storing extra factory crates of items in 3 storage droids.. heheh

Oh, sorry, one other thing.

As a DE, all you really need to worry about on your resources is the Conductivity, and the Overall Quality. and even then, not on all the parts. For control units, manipulator arms, etc things that go into the chassis you can user your lowe rquality resources, since everyone says that the MQ doesn't matter, but i always experiment to at least 0.. just my preference. try and find yourself a really nice OQ (950+) chemical to use in the final build of the droid deed, to ensure you get the highest HAM possible on yer combat droids.

Also, so people know, you can keep resources in your crafting station. Crates don't show up though.

Just stand by your station, on your tool, over the "start crafting" option, select open input hopper. Then drop in your resources.

I find it much more convieninat to keep my more commonly used resources there, and my crates on my toon.

I don't like the hopper of private crafting station.
My crafting tools are in my backpack and having to start crafting something to access the hopper is a pain.

That's why I have 3 unlocked container around my chair next to my crafting station.

1 with modules
1 with component
1 with rare/named ressources.

And I keep the commonly used in my backpack with 1 crate of most of the components.
When I finish a crate, I just pick a new one for the container.

This way I keep stuff organized.

Also, when you started the crafting process, you can drag&drop from a container straight to the tool.

Also keep in mind that Jenden recently discovered that the Malleability stat has an effect on the critical failures yes?

yep this bug is pain in rear since as master de being able to use crates makes much more sense, did notice something other day when doing a batch droids for someone , when i took item out of crate in inventory and then put crate back incrafting station i could get item from the crate like you should be able to, next time your making couple of items using crates could you see if this happens for you or if i was dreaming it.

oh another reason putting resources in crafting station is good is it dont count as item in the house more useful when starting if you only have small house and lots of stuff. having seperate bags for stuff is good idea as well since if you get lucky on very good supplies of stuff it reduces risk of using them on item that dont need it. another thing is using things like lubrication oil for final build something to do with stats and not effecting outcome in bad way, should be able to find whole reason on these forums.

Not true my friend. If you are standing near enough to your crafting station you can bring up the radial menu on your crafting tool and go to the first option (Start Crafting?) if you hover over that for a second or so you get another option appear that is "Open Station Hopper" or something similar. You can then open the hopper on your crafting station get the stuff you want and put it back later.

I have one of each crafting station in my house as it adds extra storage. Sure, each one needs a different tool to access the hopper, but since you can keep 100 items in each, that's a lot of crated goods that you can store...

As far as I know you can't use the hoppers on two stations of the same type, so for example once you have a chem station you can't use the hopper on a second chem station if the first has stuff in it.. you just wont get the menu option.

I know that you can access with the tool.

That's what sux.

If each time I want something I have to dig in my backpack and find the right tool, I'm wasting time.

Starting a crafting process is faster, but it's still more a pain then opening a container.

Be careful... I had to put down a small house to store my crates when the resources in my crafting station suddenly started counting again towards my house total after I'd been away from the game for several weeks. Right now, adding or removing items to my input hopper does count towards my house total.
