Heya...

I'll keep an eye on this but I have to say that I've not seen anything that seems to suggest that any kind of change/nerf is in the works for these.

My suggestion for the Jedi: Beware the uberness of a DE.

clicky

The guy obviously don't know what he's talking about.

I think I clarified the situation a little (maybe not in a nice way, but truth always hurt ).

Yeah, i think you squashed that nerf bug before it ran away. The guy needed to learn a few things about droids/creatures too. But it does make me think about future possibilities with a potential DC class and the ability to call multiple bombdroids out at one time. This may be an issue in the future to keep in mind.

I sent him a forum PM to let him know that I couldn't support the types of changes he was suggesting.

It's true that he's got some questionable (and some incorrect) info and such. But...as DEs...we're used to that.

No worries, all. If this gets to be epidemic (to the point of being imbalanced), I'll work with Arjun and the team to see what can be done to resolve things without it affecting us negatively.

I've done a ton of research and testing with bomb droids...and all I can say there is no call for a NERF...although it may be warrented thatthe range of the /detonatedroid commandbe reduced to64m since CM was recently reduced on Test...but of course that is definitely debatable and would the strengths/weaknesses of Smugglers and Bounty Hunters would have to be taken into consideration (the reasons they were originally given the cert in the first place)...

There as been some that say Commandos are suppose to be the major Blast Damage dealers (Bomb Droids are capable of producing higher Blast Damage rates then even our Rocket Launcher even in the Adv MSE form)...I agree with the idea that Commandos should do higher Blast Damage then Bomb Droids...but instead of NERF'ing the power and abilities of Bomb Droids, I'd rather see our issues fixed and addressed (bring us up instead of Bomb Droids down)...I'm using the design an abilities of Bomb Droids to hopefully one day improve the way our Heavy Weapon and Grenades work...

Other then that, any other issues that some may have with Bomb Droids most likely stem from certain bugs that exist in game (two spring to mind, but I don't like to bring it up in a public place...slightly exploitable)...I'm sure any exploit that could stem from using a Bomb Droid will eventually be addressed...

Like TK stated...I haven't heard of any NERF or major change to Bomb Droids in the works...nor do I feel any "NERF" is needed...Besides...I'm still hoping one day that Commandos get cert'd to use Bomb Droids (or as l like to call them, Homing Missles)...besides helping us out, they'd provide DE's with yet another group to sell them too, expanding the market on these littlebomb buddies...

The thread was called "Nerf bomb droids". People were claiming that you could master creature handler and have 3 out at the same time among other things.

I posted here so that people who were more articulate than me would help me point out the inaccurate statements like that.

Actually Commandos being certed to use these makes sense. I actually had a thoguht the other day that we should have a "morter module" as well, that launched grenades, for commando use only. Kind of like a trapping module.

Back on topic though.

I actually may have figured out where that thread's ummm error came fro, about 3 MSE bombs out at once. This may bear looking into TK. Remember that bug that allowed people to call multiple droids, by calling one, then crossing a zone and calling another. I thought that was fixed, but what if people found another way to do this and have been using it for Bomb droids?

Not saying that is the case, but what if....

Even if this bug allowed you to have 2 dorid out at the same time, I don't think you were able to control both.

One was just staying there.

But, the original thread was not about that, is was a pure whine only based on false informations.

Boom droid don't give TEF (true but if no tef, no dmg)
MCH can have 3 droid out (no true, never been, never will)
Boom droid is insta-kill and I win button (not true unless you do something really stupid).

Multiple Boom is not possible, even with befriend, you can only detonate the one you own.

The only thing that might be a bug is the fact that even if you cannot call a droid from your datapad in a fight, you can ready one from your inventory.
But it is hardly exploitable concidering that once out, he'll wait 10 seconds before listening to your detonate command and start the count down.
Meaning the target have 13 second to deal with the uber 50 HAM of an MSE or the 4.4K of an R3 (really not a problem for a Jedi, concidering that even if the damage done by the detonation receive the 75% PvP Reduction, the damage done to the droid doesn't seem to.).

The other possible option would be based on transfer of droid once the first go boom. That might work, but would require alot of organization and concentration. And I'm not even sure transfert work during a fight.
