So other than harvesting when im in combat.....

how does hitting my 'give harvesting command to droid' macro differ from me hitting my 'harvest' macro?

ither im missing the point or this droid is not a lot of use to me.. i (stupidly) was expecting a droid that would do it automatically..

well you live and learn.. ill go smoke another and watch my new FX droid

am i right in thinking this droid will run off and harvest from a critter i killed, and i can stay where I am?

as im a rifleman and means I can kill one critter send droid to harvest repeat while staying prone, if so I think its handy and i will be buying one.

It's simple, really.

  1. You set a command on the droid using the first harvesting module option. Just like any other droid command, it waits for you to say what it should listen for.

  2. While you're fighting a group of critters, when you drop one you can tell the droid to harvest it and then start attacking the next one while it's trundling off to do the harvest.

  3. Range has been reported to be anywhere from 35m on the low end to 45m to maybe 60m. Experimentation may playa role in this range. It seems the range is from your droid OR from you, whichever is closer.

Something to try: Set a 'follow target' command on your droid. Tell it to follow what you're attacking. When the thing falls, tell it to harvest. Should happen right away as the droid's right there.

Finally, the droid is supposed to be able to pull in more than you, if the bonus on the droid is high enough. People have not yet had a chance to test this fully, it seems.

ok range is 60meters... ill concede....

im melee/scout/CH atm but when i was Rilfeman harvesting was a pain.. can see in that situation the droid is invaluable....

pity..

got my hopes up about not having to target every corpse after combat but .... silly me /rollseyes

Don't know about you, but I'm still targetting the corpse as it falls ('cause I've been spamming sapshot on it). So I can just make a "/tellpet harvest" macro and hit it as soon as it switches from "Gurk" to "Corpse of Gurk" - then tab to the next target once I see the droid start moving.

you also get a slight bonus to your harvest if the module is well made. I think the ones i made were plus 17 today and they were good (not great) resources.

hum I got a harvesting droid that has +37 to harvesting..I tried it out on nunas ..and it harvests no more then me with it out or in my data pad..is it broke or am i doing something wrong???

I set command to harvest,

I tell it what to harvest

I give it the command it harvests the item and stores it in my inventory..

With it in my pad I harvested 16 units of meat, I pulled it out but not grouped harvested 16 units of meat, I grouped it still 16 units I told it to harvest yet again 16 units of meat. BTW im a scout 4/0/4/2

Why am i not getting the bonus??? any ideas

You might try it on something with a higher yield. Percentage increases show up better the higher the number being used.

Scout modules will not give you much more than you can get normally. The "bonus" they talk about, IMHO, was misleading (like much of what they say). The "bonus" I believe they are referring to is that you no longer have to run to each creature you kill to harvest it. The Droid's harvesting ability is tied to your skill, and fluctuates based on its Rating. If its in the 90's, it will pull in 2-10% more than you will. This will be most evident in big creatures, obviously.

This Droid will NOT allow you to drop Hunting and get the same amount of harvests. THis droid is a minor convenience. Not sure what they could do to make it better and keep it FAIR to Scouts. Maybe letting you both harvest, and the droid will provide *up to* the same amount of resources (second kind) you can normally get. So you harvest Meat and get 80 units, and a really good Scout droid will harvest Bone and get 78 units. Maybe one day they'll look at it again. AllI know is that my Guild's Master Rangers aren't gonna bother with it.

Testing I've done so far has shown a +31 to get about the same... A +16 to get LESS than I would on my own. So you have to load up a droid with these things to get any 'bonus'... Which was VERY misleading, considering that a +27 veghash will bump me from 79 harvests to 87 harvests. But a +31 droid only gets the same as I do. (I've got +45 on my own.)

If I have one of these droids, can both of us harvest the same kill? Effectively doubling the harvest if I was solo?
