That's exactly 300 votes, TH. How many do you need?

Note: This count includes vote swaps (people who changed their votes one or more times).

Well, I'd like to understand the change of heart.

Way back when, when I asked, DE's proclaimed that they were a "crafting professions" and not a "combat professions". Correspondent aside, this opinion was driven by post on this board. I see a big change of heart now.

What's your motivation?

This is an important thread. Off topic posts and rants will be deleted.

This is not a change of heart.

THAT is what we wanted, not a droid handler class.

Thunderheart,

We do not want a Droid Handler profession whether the Droid Handler's are DEs or a completely seperate profession. We don't want a CH clone is what we're saying.

Read some of the other threads. There are tons of useful discussions on differnt possible certification systems.

I don't think it was a change of heart, I think it was a misconception. People are in favor of a cert system that works within the bounds of the professions thatwe already have, not a new profession all together. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think DEs or the community as a whole was ever behind a new profession all together. TH I strongly urge you to consider the certification proposal that our correspondent has put forth. And if it doesn't work, tell us why!

Thanks for listening.

I know the big thing for me(and Im a noob crafter so please be patient) I want to be able to use the droids, I make. I want to be able to brag to my customers the strengths and weaknesses of the droids I make. Sorta like a mechanic taking a car on a test drive after he has tuned up his car. Plus I want to be able to check my harvesters and have enough skill points after DE, Artisen and Merchant to have one basic Combat proffesion so I can defend myself and perform normal functions in game.

That is correct TH, we want to be a crafting profession. Giving us certs would overpower us.

But we don't want our droids to be used by a new droid profession.
We want (just like AS, Tailor, Chef, Arch) a wide-scale market, with droids for everyone.
This can only be done by implenting a cert-system, which would high-skill people, a better droid.

So please, no Droid Handler It would slim our market and less people will enjoy the droids.

At the risk of getting a fellow DE banned (hate doing this but) I have to say you can't plead ignorance. You were warned, we have proof:

That is probably not possible, though I will find out.

Droid Certs wont work because there are so many combat class combinations that some one will inevitably find an uber-combo with a powerful droid.

Faction Droids are planned, but they are down the road a bit.

I'm not sure this was ever a change of heart, as far as I can tell, it's always been this way. Nobody has ever wanted a new profession to use droids, that just seems silly. It's Star Wars, droids SHOULD be everywhere and able to be used by everyone.

I believe you're assuming that we want CH level droids. I think most of us would settle for something just a little tougher than a Probot. Not something that will unbalance the game.

Like I said in another thread. The last thing we want is to become a CH clone.

Aye... something more akin to smugglers rather thanCHs is another alternative suggested out there.

Or a clone of any other profession, for that matter.
