Death Watch Bunker - Mandalorian Armor Crafting

Information and Screenshots!! (05/27)

First off, I'd like to personally thank the 'Roughneck'

strike team that made the 1st successful crafting raid of the DeathWatch Bunker possible...
color=#ffff00>they
are 'the real Hawtness!!':

The Roughneck's 'Strike Team' - 1st Successful

DWB Raid!!

  • Joanna Frank (1st

    Leader)

  • Expor

  • Reeli Owoo

  • Vorath

  • Jinks

  • Ell' Kabong

  • Osrix Ahazian

  • Ahab Crestingrunner

  • Fever Bifi

  • Chur Twilight

  • 'Zeutheir

  • Dra'ak Guumi

  • Me-ke Macre

  • T'plari

  • Okkoo

Server: Test Center

Date: Wed. May 26 - approx. 11:45 PM - 2:15 AM PM (CST)

Start: Endor's Smuggler Outpost Cantina

Various members of the 'strike team' listed above spent several days (to a

few weeks) learning the layout, getting keys and looted drops, BH armor, etc. Only when we knew that all the

needed components were available did we make an attempt to get to the crafting rooms. The raid last night was

specifically focused on getting me into the crafting room as quickly and safely as possible...nothing else.

Preparation:

The DWB is not the sort of dungeon that can be completed in one night or one 'pass'. It will take a longer term,

concentrated effort. The first few times your 'strike team' hits the bunker, you'll end up needing to work on getting the

layout down, collecting keys and looted parts for the armor/jetpack.

I would very much suggest that you find a solid, well-trained (and very

disciplined) combat 'strike team' to hit the Bunker repetitively. I would

not suggest that you get yourself in there with people you do not

know and trust.

So, before you get geared up to do this for real, have the following (if at all possible):

  • The layout down as much as possible...

  • The list of combat folk that you can count on to focus on crackin' this mutha...

  • Several needed keys (on several different members, in case someone dies)...

  • Several sets of needed parts (again, just in case)...

We muster inside the front door

and get ready to 'roll'...

What you need to

bring:

You need not worry a ton (as the DE/crafter member) about bringing any crafting tools, a crafting-enabled droid, any

sorts of regular resources, droid/armor parts, etc.

If the looted parts (needed to get into the room) are on your person, by the time you need to use the DE door lock

controls, you're good to go.

Once you're at the DE crafting room

door:

Okay...so, you've fought through the higher levels....

We got hung up in a few rooms...but no SBDs

are gonna stop US...

You've gotten yourself to the mine entrance...and finally to the DE crafting room door...

If you haven't already, get the parts you need from the member of your party that has them. I actually recommend

that they get you the needed items before you all even start. This means no waiting when you finally step up to the

plate.

When you reach the door, you have only to "Use" the door control (via its radial menu) and, if you have the necessary

ingredients, you will unlock the door and you (and your team) can get on in there...

DE Crafting room - Level 1 (up the first

ramp):

You'll need to get right in there and make a quick right, heading up the ramp. The first level here has the

Jetpack Crafting droid and a Mandalorian Forge for it to use. Since our target was the helmet, I wasn't able to try this

out (even though I had all the needed parts....I think). Anyway...here's some screenies:

DE Crafting room - Level 2 (top

level):

This is where the armor 'magic' happens...

If you're making armor, get thyself up to the top level as soon as possible. Bear in mind, your group CAN follow you

into the DE Crafting room...but there are baddies around while you're trying to craft. So, make sure they are ready to

keep them off you while you focus.

There is another Crafting droid here next to another Mandalorian Forge. If you attempt to select/use the Mandalorian

Forge, you will see the following message:

"The Terminal is displaying numbers and images. It is not ready for input at this

time."

If you see this...it means you're not doing it right.

You will need to start by dragging and dropping parts from your main inventory right on top of the Crafting droid.

I dropped my BH Helmet on the Crafting droid

(top level)...

Note: Make sure to check the chat/UI for the line... "The following

items are still needed...".

I do not know if the order that you drop items is important, but I used:

  • BH armor helmet

  • Alum Minerals

  • Binary Liquid

  • Protective Liquid Coating

When I dragged/dropped the looted component items on to the Crafting Droid, I got the following:

All items dropped on...waiting for process to

begin

Then...I needed to actually use the Mandalorian Forge. When I did, I got...

The Alum hardening process (begins)...

"The Alum hardening process is about to begin. Would you like to

continue?"
(Note: you cannot choose "No" here.)

Once this process completes (it happens pretty fast), you'll be prompted to use the Mandalorian Forge again. This

time, you'll be starting the "Aeration" process:

The Alum hardening process finished, then

Aeration needed to be done...

This also only takes a few moments, but....................when you're done.......

Success!! Success!! Success!!

Checking the stats after getting booted out

(alone)...

Large capture of the stat window, after

getting booted out..

Post Raid 'Strike Team' Screenies:

For those interested, here's some group shots of the first ever raid team to perform a successful DWB crafting

raid!!

Go Roughnecks!!

Thoughts, comments and

opinions:

Whew! That is a wild ride, folks...

I have to say that I've not yet had a more enjoyable raid/combat experience in these here Galaxies!

The spawns are tough...the map is large...the parts are hard to find...and the experience will very likely make your

heart pound quite a bit harder (especially waiting to see if you crit fail on the build).

...I'll edit/add to this guide as needed. But I wanted to get you all some info and screenies right away.

Note: Because I like you all to have fun...there are things

I've left out of the guide on purpose
.

Ya know...I didn't even check.

I was kinda wigged out by the fact that we were able to pull it off. When I jump on next, I'll definitely look.

You say you got booted. Would you have time to craft each piece in there? Or is that simply not possible given the alotted time?

Congrats TK and the rest of the group!

I bet its much easier to do this in TC because the Live servers have too much lag with everyone going there. Maybe later on when the novelty dies it will be doable. What also sucks is you get booted out of the dungeon after doing each peice.. that means you gota go back in there for each peice of the armor(thats what I have read). Thats like 8 or 9 successful runs to make one suit.

Looking at the stats, right now the armor is not as good as composite.. so the usefulness is not there.. so it will be interesting when they balance out armor like the devs said they would... then maybe this could be the best (along side RIS) armor in the game.

The part i noticed is the lightsaber, vulnerability, is that a new damage type now? I don't remember seing anything about that. I'm also curious if the stats of the bh armor piece make a difference in the final output, I've seen great variation in the pieces, plus i've looted some with stat mods on them, and I'm curious if those will make it through to the final piece.

Yes, this is new with publish 9. Lightsabers now have their own damage type and are no longer kinetic.
