Thread: Batteries!

Just had a few customers who came back telling me that they were having trouble with no modules working on their droids. After a quick examination I discovered that they were low in power. Putting the datapad and pulling them out again NO LONGER recharges droids. So DEs, be sure to give your customers some spare batteries before they go.

Now maybe someone will finally sell the things. On radiant (My DE is on Starsider) I had to take up novice artisan and craft my own batteries because no one in the galaxy was selling the things.

I sell em by the crate load... in fact my last 1000 schematic was for droid batteries. 4 uses each, 25 in a crate= 100 uses.

How long does it take for a droid to get out of power?

LOL if this is true then selling droids will be like selling inkjets. We'll make more money in the long run from the batteries than from the droid sales!

You're right. It's the 'Gilette' business model.

Now there should be a REAL reason to have a power droid, there should be REAL reasons to sell batteries (I'd better get hopping on that, I ran out), and a REAL returning customer base. Oh wait, I forgot: Any artisan can craft Droid Batteries. So WE get to produce the expensive, difficult one-time sale, and anyone who cares to do so can provide the ongoing support.

Usually most people will come back to you for batteries unless they can make them themselves.

That's my experience... I have trouble keeping them stocked! LOL

Thankfully I just put a 1k of them into my vendor (40 crates of 25 LOL).

On a side note, can you get batteries with 5 charges?

Honestly, I've never gotten a five-charge battery, and the more I think about it, the less worthwhile it seems to do so. Those would be some SERIOUSLY high quality materials being wasted on a consumable item, with only a slight benefit to inventory space. A crate of four-charge batteries is good enough, IMHO.

The batteries I put on the vendor today had 98% on the experimentation... I didn't want to pull one out to see if it was 4 or 5 charges though LOL
