Thread: Vehicles and DE interdependence: What parts should be needed?
BLL Chasis.
But seriously
Adv Droid Motive System - All Vehicles
Adv Droid Brain - Landspeeder
Droid Brain - Swoop and Speeder
As for Artisan Parts
Control Unit -All Vehicles
Energy Distributor -All Vehicles
And yes I do think Experimentation should affect the outcome. And we all need to advertise that if its true.

This is a good thought. Perhaps the Adv Droid Motives should be a sub-component of the repulsorlift parts (if any are needed in the future).
If not, perhaps just put the Adv. Droid Motives right into the vehicle schematic.

Respectfully,
The Droid storage compartment is used in other items as an optional component with no purpose, why not the Speeder, maybe not the bikes though. Or even Motive systems or Adv Motive systems.

A 'glovebox'?
This seems a bit over the top. An Item storage module as an option...yea, I can see that.
It's used in crafting stations to give an input hopper or whatever that's called. I was thinking along the lines of having this used to basically hold the droid components.
Armor optional in all vehicles.
Hmmm....yea, maybe. That's a workable idea and kind of makes sense.
How about only Level 4-6 armor in them, though? ...just to spice things up a bit.
Any level would be good IMO. Have the armor level correlate to the ham level (if there is one) of the vehicle.
The subcomponents should affect the speed, resists and "HAM" of the vehicle.
They should all have different base stats, so none of this 100% shock resistence stuff.
Honestly though, at the moment I can't figure out what DE components would logically fit in something like this, with the exception of the storage and perhaps data modules.
perhaps only require the data modules, since the storage could be an option.
My paltry contribution.

I'd like to see:
- the option to install one or two Droid Storage Compartments to give 10 unit storage compartments in the swoop and 20 (max)in the landspeeder.
-Advanced motive units for all vehicles... perhaps more than one for the landspeeder.
- Droid brain forlandspeeder and swoop. Speederbikeis probably too "seat-of-the-pants" for afull-on nav computer to be appropriate.
That's probably all that's needed and appropriate. I'm looking at the swoop as more of a "touring bike" with a speederbike as its "dirtbike" cousin...

Dunno about the sensor package...we already have a micro-sensor suite in the artisan schematic. I doubt the devs would require DE-only parts where artisanparts would be more logical.
Probably control units rather than droid brains too, now that I think about it.
Still leaves storage and repulsors...
I'm not a Droid Engineer, far from it. But as a star wars fan, and thepending release of vehicles, I am utterly disappointed that the schematics for vehicles are sooooooo lame. Eng 4? and easy to get resources. Super, super, super, super lame.
I think (and had assumed) that the DEs would have a integral part in the crafting of vehicles. I hope that the current state of TC is done, so that a majority of the populous of TC will have readily availability of the vehicles. With such an easy schematic to gain, it will gaurantee that everyone on TC will have several vehicles.
When it hits live, I hope the schematic is changed. I will sign any petition you guys start, to help that happen. I can't believe all the whining babies in SWG Discussion, complaining about the rumors of it being moved to Master Artisan. Regardless if it stays in Eng 4 or not, I hope you guys (DE's and/or MDEs) will either make them, or make the components for them.
Vehicles do not appear to have "HAM", per se, right now.

This would this aspect of things kind of hard to track.

Vehicles do not appear to have "HAM" bar. I don't know if they have any quantifiable 'stats' such as these.
Can anyone give info on this (that's on TC)?
They should all have different base stats, so none of this 100% shock resistence stuff.
Honestly though, at the moment I can't figure out what DE components would logically fit in something like this, with the exception of the storage and perhaps data modules.
Data modules would be super-cool only if they held non-mission waypoints and could be used to select a waypoint and the vehicle would go there on its own (can you say "AFK Driving"?).
perhaps only require the data modules, since the storage could be an option.
I think that item and data (non-mission waypoint) storage would be perfect.
If there were other chassis/schematic related parts that made sense, we need to look at it.
I think that the parts should come from DE and not Master Artisan though.
In that regard, perhaps Droid Brains (droid-assisted navigation) and/or Droid Motive parts (for the repulsorlifts) would make the most sense.
My paltry contribution.
No contributions (given constructively) are paltry.

Why not just have this be regular Item storage (1-6) modules? I don't see why it would be Droid Storage Compartments.
Maybe we DEs could use those for custom paint jobs for vehicles.
-Advanced motive units for all vehicles... perhaps more than one for the landspeeder.
Also a good thought. I think this is sorta logical and obvious.
- Droid brain forlandspeeder and swoop. Speederbikeis probably too "seat-of-the-pants" for afull-on nav computer to be appropriate.
I'm guessing this could be used for an 'AutoPilot' type feature. Set it for a waypoint and off it goes (on its own?).
That's probably all that's needed and appropriate. I'm looking at the swoop as more of a "touring bike" with a speederbike as its "dirtbike" cousin...
Respectfully,
Advanced Droid Frame - this is a possibility if any kind of "frame" is needed.
Advanced Droid Motive - definitly this is needed for the repulsorlifts
Droid customization kit - for the paint job. This isn't really a schematic thing, but what else would you use?
Item storage modules - as a nice option, somewhere to put your used clothing so Tuskens can rifle through them when they incap you.
Data storage modules - another nice option
Droid Sensor package - I seem to recall Luke and 3PO tracking R2withLuke's landspeeder in ep IV.

We don't yet know whether or not vehicles can be painted. I hope that they guessed this would be a desired feature and built it from the ground up to be allowed.
I am sure there will be a lot of "Can you paint my vehicle" questions unless/until this is announced.
Everyone will want their vehicle to feel like it's "theirs".
