How good is the Le Repair droid as a tanker with 2 auto repair modules in it?
I want it to fight enough to draw the mobs but mostly to auto heal for tanking...
Or r3 better for that with 5 auto repair and one combat mod better?

There is a great thread on this topic but i cant remember what its called. Try to use your search button.
Reader's digest version: It stinks compared to the probot and the R3

It's the best tanker if you don't wanna use auto-repair, and save batteries.
With auto-repair, R3 is better and Probot right after it (both 5 auto-repair but R3 has more HAM).

I find the Probot with 5 auto repair modules to be the best tank out there. Here's why:
First off the Probot is automatically equiped for combat, no module neccisary - and it only does 1 dmg min-max. That means it'll stick around in combat, but won't take virtually any of that sweet sweet exp while you grind.
The downside is the lower ham, but with 5 auto repair mods and some good stacks of C or D repair kits it should tank just fine for virtually any common dant grind creature (huurtons, quenkers, heck i've even used them to tank single upper level voritors and pickets without much trouble)
All in all i think the Probot is the better buy, build wise and combat exp wise.

I like the LE. THe higher ham and 2 auto-repair modules means you have to heal it less then the other droids.

I favour the LE over the Probot because the Probot seems to mysteriously break off combat sometimes. As a BH I send in the droid to preoccupy the mark... an LE goes dilligently to work and never disengages. Probots: they seem to disengage frequently and move away to a location that seems optimum for ranged attacks. This usually leaves the mark to reaggro and turn on me. If I'm in under the 17m range which is necessary for LLCspecials then the Probot moving away to optimum Rangedcauses problems.
Besides, the Advanced LE has more HAM then the Probot. Using a droid as a tank, I'm more interested in it taking damage then in giving it. The more it gives the less XP I take away.

The LE is a really nice, underappreciated droid. Newer players can more easily afford it, and it does work.
I just had a customer who just started out on pistoleer buy an LE from me with 2 auto-repair modules. He immediately went out and hesitantly used it in taking down a rogue fambaa outside my shop. He was freakin' ecstatic with how it worked.

To me they are just so dang slow getting around. That only problem I have with them as a tank.

It depends.
For long periods of tanking against low to medium creatures, the R3 is superior.
For short periods of Tanking against really hard creatures, the LE is better. Meaning if you wantto tank something that is going to kill the Droid, go with the LE, it will last longer.
IMO the probot is the worst tanker. It has 1300 HAM less then the R3, even though they have the same number of repair modules. The probot is the fastest, but to me that is minor, after all, it's job is to stand still and tank.
I think that for 90% of your tanking situations, the R3 is the best. High HAM, coupled with 5 repair modules is pretty hard to kill.

The LE has a downside that I and many customers dont like: They run sloooow. Slower thanwhat werun. They are a pain to move around. You have to pick them up and put them back down every time you want to travel even a few hundred meters.

All humanoid have that speed problem.
3PO being the worst imho.
So, the LE is definitively not good for solo hunting or mission farming because he can't follow.
But All the droids have the same problem.
Fastest are DZ70 and probot and they can hardly follow an X34 for more than a couple of hundred meters.

One more important bit of info on the LE--> It is strictly Melee Damage Robot!!
That being the case it tends to get up close and personal with the mob and holds agro very well!!
You could send it to attack a lair and the mobs will keep spawning and going to attack the LE and it can hold agro on all mobs that spwan, most of the time. This can allow a ranged attacker to sit back at ideal range and pop off the enemy without taking any damage. You must be careful when using this tactic to not out class your droid with more damage than he can absorb.
Now if you want to use your droid to pull off single pulls then a ranged attack droid is best for this.
I believe that the R3 is a mix of ranged and Melee damage.
The Probot is Ranged only.
So I believe you should have at least 1 good LE and 1 good ranged Bot and use them to your tactical advantage based on the situation.
