Ok, so tonight I was feeling really good. I got my BH/Smuggler Droid vendor pretty well stocked. I wanted it pretty full so I would get lots of repeat business. Think about it, if someone see that you always have what they need, they will come back. So I have about 194 crates of seekers, probes, and detonation droids.
15 minutes later I find out about the vendor nerf from the test center patch notes. All I can say is **edit**?
110 items per vendor for a MASTER MERCHANT?!? Sheesh. Guess I have to rethink my plan. Perhaps even rethink my profession.
Good luck finding anything you need with those kinda caps.

Post in the merchant forum. Post in the test center forum. I know my post count has jumped tonight.
Let them know this will kill the crafters. And them how do the combat folks play when they can't find anything?

its hard enough being a DE as it is with the new changes, i'll drop it all together and go pure combat.

What happens with most of the other crafters do what you do? How will you find a weapon? What about armor? Then again, you might be able to find a weapon, but will you be able to afford it? I can see supply and demand at work here, prices will skyrocket.

They are kidding right?
I stock 150+ droids.
With supplies, I stock 350+ things.
That is total BS.

I only have artisan business 3 for my one vendor, and I stock over 400 items.
Oh man, you know what's going to happen? they're going to say that the playerbase asked for this change, then when the uproar becomes deafening, they'll ask "why the change in heart?"
yeah, I'm going back to my hole in the swamp. A month and a half left to decide if I want to renew my account again, I don't think things are looking up for a positive response to that question anymore. two weeks ago when I renewed again, things were pretty even between renewing and not renewing.

It's enough to make me sick.
This means the DE template will have to be MDE/MA/MM.
You can argue we don't need MA, and I am sure some people get by without it, but with the demand for my products as high as they are (no other DE on my server seems to be able to stock the high-rated combat droids I can) I simply cannot find a MA to provide me with the 1000's MA parts I go through at prices that wouldn't make me have to price myself out of business.
This is one of the most short-sighted changes EVER. It's bad enough for a DE, who has to stock many, many combinations of droids to properly provide for customers, but think about Armorsmiths - an AS without Merchant will only be able to stock a dozen or so suits of armor. Or anyone who sells components, for that matter. Or anyone that sells tools and supplies...the list goes on and on.
Someone said it in the thread in the merchant forum, and I can't disagree - It's like they are actively trying to ruin the game and drive people out. Of they want to fix merchant, FIX merchant. It's way too late in the game to be nerfing crafters who have been playing this game and been loyal for a year or more.
I also charge a lot for my droids - I have to use rare resources to make my combat and harvest droids that haven't been available since BEFORE Publish 7. No way is a merchant going to hand me millions for a crate of droids upfront, and no way I am going to sell them for less when WS pay BIG bucks for these rare resources I use to make the best droids around.
My biggest gripe is that there is no secure way for a Merchant to consign items for you. It would be one thing if I had a secure way to offer my items for a Merchant to sell that automatically paid me when the item sold, and protected me if the merchant destroyed the item/vendor it was on/structure it was in. It happened to me before - last summer, when I put my first vendor up it was in a mall. One day, the guy who owned the mall (who wasn't a bad guy) rerolled, ergo building deleted with all the vendors and all my stuff. He said, "Oops!" but that didn't give me back my millions in credits worth of droids.
This is forced interdependence like no other - I mean, at the rate people quit around here (even if they do come back), I simply cannot trust ANYONE over the internet that I do not personally know IRL (as in, face to face) with all my hard work.
So yeah, force us to work with merchants once they can secure and solidify the transactions to protect everyone - if they can't, it's way to friggin' late a 13 months into the game to turn our business upside down.
It really does feel like they want us to quit the game - they must really be banking on JTL more than I thought. It just goes to show they do not care about players at all, and it's just about impossible to see what they are trying to logically accomplish. It's clear they have no idea how this game is actually played.

Amen. What's next? Are they going to fix the bug that lets us run schematics of 1000 in our factory instead of the intended 100?
This is going to raise prices on pretty much all goods and wreck our economies even further, not to mention how hard it'll be to FIND what I'm looking for listed on vendors.I'm feeling just livid right now. Good time to head over to the merchant forum!

I just can't get over these merchant 'fixes'.... They make my head want to explode! Wh.. I mean ho... who? wha?!!!! ekbbaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! How the hell did this ever get into a coding schedule, anyone ANYONE who actually plays the game would just look at this and go 'sorry? you wnat me to destroy all crafters? Why exactly?'
I'm an MDE. I've always been an MDE, I've never done anything else. As an MDE I also have to be master Artisan & stupidly it seems, I kinda like to shoot things every now and then so I worked and I worked and I worked and I made master Rifleman. That's it. Nothing else, no CM no CH no armoursmith on the side or smuggler for the fun of it just those. Not anymore it seems. If I want to be a crafter I'll have to take master Merchant which means no more shooting things just factories for now and ever more oh, and vendor restocking every 15 minutes.
This is driving me nuts!

Please, go to this thread and let yourself be known!
Tell every crafter you know in the game (especially Tailors and BE's who like us are forced to have many different versions of their products available because of color/etc.).
We have to stop this before it goes live and they cripple the crafting professions.

I can't get into it right this second...but I want you to know that I'm gonna get all over this.
The current suggested item numbers are too low at most every level. I'm not sure how much this can get addressed but I can assure you that I'll be battling these low numbers.
That being said...
Your ability to have a massive amount of stock on vendors will be 'nerfed'. How much is going to vary (hopefully loosen up some). There's several reasons for this change but I can tell you that this will hurt most every crafting profession pretty badly.....it'll hurt Tailors a heckuva lot more than it likely hurts us.
Anyway....just letting you know that I've got my eyes and ears very keenly on this change...

To be honest, I don't want a massive amount of stock space on vendors. Right now there is no reason to have merchant skills. I like the idea of having you skill reflect how many items you can store. However, the current number are way too low.
I think it will hit the armorsmiths the hardest, follow by resource sellers. I really don't want to see a decline in the resources availible from a vendor, and I don't want to be forced to buy larger quantities.
Thanks for letting us know you are helping TK, although we already figured you were.
