Thread: Droid Report (Publish 7): CL13 is correct, valid and normal

Heya, all...

Thunderheart let something slip that I hadn't gotten the official head's up to release.

The fact that our combat droids are reporting as CL13 is, in fact, valid, correct and normal.

This change was performed due to balance problems with having 2 CL10 pets called. The Devs decided that it would be fair to bump our max. CL a bit to give us a balanced edge with the BE pet market.

So, understand...

No players will be able to call a CL10 creature with one of our (CL13) combat droids.

This is by design (and apparently didn't make the patch notes).

And they knew this before or after the "you can call a droid with your pet" was announced?

It wasn't so much announced.

It was just dropped from the TC patch notes.

I followed this pretty closely, and it was part of the early in test notes, but then disapeared well before Publish 7 hit. Like, weeks. I had assumed they pulled it back because it didn't appear on the last few versions of patch notes; I had hoped it wasn't so, but nonethless I wasn't awfully surprised when it didn't see light of day.

Respectfully, this is complete BS

1. It hurts badly our droid sales, every player knows he needs a BE CL10 Tank, so no room for droids.

2. I am NOT convinced that the nerfed armour plus a little extra damage even = CL10, never mind 13

3. (emotional) What actual good has this 'loving focus' done us really? Stims are so complex and expensive that nobody, but Nobody, will choose our droids over a CL10 (so called) BE pet.

Please go to the devs and explain reality to them, because what I'm seeing is a Dev belief that all is well, and it is not.

Thankyou

I really don't know what to think anymore...

Having a CL 10 pet and CL 10 droid out at the same time would have been more appealing to many, including myself, than having a CL 13 droid that is still severely inferior to the BE CL 10 pets out there.

ok .....

i do not understand...please explain slowly...

did they just simply change the NUMBER or did the droid change is well

Does it have the Stats/Performance of a level 13 pet or is it simply the same droid with a new rating so we cant call 2 things at once.

After the BE pets are 'leveled' down to us, this will be less of an issue, since we will be on a more level playing field. The did decide to leave the numbers at CL13, which is good.

I haven't run numbers on this and suspect I won't get a chance. What we will need to do is keep an eye on if the CL13 ends up being too much or too little. But, remember, these are supposed to be low-level pets analagous to CL10 BE pets. If they both stack up to each other, in relation to PvE, then we will probably remain unchanged. Sure...a bit of tweaking might happen but there has to be more of that much vaunted Dev metrics gathered first.

3. (emotional) What actual good has this 'loving focus' done us really? Stims are so complex and expensive that nobody, but Nobody, will choose our droids over a CL10 (so called) BE pet.

/shrug I have a ton of sales and leads both. Remember that they intended publish 7 to be the first of two sort of related publishes. I think it will be important to see how this plays out for awhile longer (but I'll keep doing research on the forums).

Is it really so bad as we think? We need to keep that in mind. It's been pretty fast for this change. I've intended to put up a poll to see what's what...I think I'll go do that right now.

Thankyou

TK, even after BE pets get "adjusted" to correctly be CL 10, that doesn't take away from them the fact that they can be buffed by docs, and with food, to the tune of 3k-5k to each stat. I'd take a 4k-6k HAM Gurrcat over a 1100 HAM Probot any day, unless they give us the armor back....

They simply change the numbers about on droid HAM, etc. to make it max at CL13 instead of CL10. The droid's no 'different', per se.

Again with the buffing issue....can we get this looked at so we can get a equivalent? Seriously, a ARMOR power-up for droids would give them quite a uniqe differentiation from BE pets.

Respectfully,

TK for heavens sake face reality:

Your First Point - yes the Devs have siad BE will be amended 'at some point in the future'..and we all know that means ages will pass...meantime YOUR community is sufferening from the imbalance-so do something please.

Your Second Point - Go actually play one, look at the combat spam, and dare to come back to me saying they are equal. We have been over-nerfed whichever way you look at it. I really don't like to discuss this further with you until you know for yourself what has happened. Honestly TK it is a joke in my PA now, and I am extremely uncomfortable with that.

Your Third point - Don't you shrug at me TK you will never get away with that. You and I both can (and could) sell them, and leads - hell I have had tells for a week, and I still will not sell them. I could, but IS IT ETHICAL? ....No - because they are relative rubbish compared to pets. You know it, and I know it. It's only the Devs who seemingly don't know it, and it's your damned job to tell them.

Yes TK it really is bad. We are selling now on novelty value, and after that it WILL go dead.

For pity's sake, this is not what any of us hoped for in a development cycle supposedly focussed on us.

*edit for Sp, could be many more
