Hello.

Droid Engineering is a great profession imo, that will take a long time to level up, but despite all the glitches and errors in the profession, it is worth every experience point that I have gained twice

(Quite a few errors on my part... I could be a couple levels higher than I am now if it weren't for a few mishaps of deleting skills, not quite fully thinking of what I was doing).

I am new to becoming a DE and am taking this profession as my skill and trade for a long time to come. But I wish to open up shop soon. I ask is there anyone that can help me?
What resources do I need and at what levels?
What is the best way to build good droids?
What droids are the best sellers?
What should I set my prices at and for which type of droid?
ect.....ect....ect
I have read the droid grinding guide that is posted, as well as the DEV about droid invasion. I don't know ahole lot right now but I am willing to learn so to make good quality droids.

This is going to sound flippant, and I guess it is. The primary resources you will need are patience and a steady temper.

You have picked a strange time to be entering the DE field, the community is in a bit of turmoil right now. We've been a semi-broken profession, with only a few truly useful items, since the game came out. We have bugs and exploits that have been in existence this entire time. The latest word is that we will suddenly have the 'opportunity' to make strong droids for someone else, in a new and as yet unimplemented profession to purchase and use, but we ourselves won't be able to.

Do I sound bitter yet?

As cynical and negative as Rho's post was, all of the information given by Rho is correct.

If you don't have anything better to do with the skill points, then by all means jump right in. The biggest seller for the DE profession is droids with 110 medical capability and a food/chem station in it, followed by any cheap droid with 10 spaces of storage.

You can also make good money simply selling chassis for home decoration. Rename them cutsy droid letter/number combos, archive droid or other such things, put them in cool colors and let the money roll in.

If you are looking for practical working droids well.....so are we.....

Hmmm I guess I wasn't very clear when I asked about resources, what I ment was what kind of steels and chems and the recommended stats for them. As for the choice of profession I was some what new to the game and then got the holocron present so that took up time. Concerning the Droid invasion thing I can deal with that when it comes to be. This is the profession I choice as my master goal when I started the game in Nov. and I would like to see it through no matter the bugs or screwed things the DEV's think is right. They do need to listen more closely and not pick the thing they think they are hearing. But thank you for the advice so far and I hope that things start working out for this profession.

Hi all! I recently aqcuired the Droid Engineer skill and (i know im gonna sound stupid) i was wondering how do you use the Doid parts like Manipulator Arm and the Armor Modules? Are they parts for a specific droid or can they be used to upgrade any droid?

Higher level droid chassis require such parts for construction.

Armor modules can be used to add armor to any droid model.

In fact... all modules add functionality, the rest of the parts are just required sub-components.

One more thing... check the stickies on the top of the page. You should find the info you need there.

Thank you for grinding. Please stand by a private crafting station and read all your schematics. Have a nice day.
