Thread: Once again...I really really feel sorry for you guys :(
your class has been broke since DAY ONE...the only good thing you could make was nerfed beyond belief...you are promised battle droids in the early part of the year now you are told it will be julyish....
They should really refund every master DE 6 months of monthly fees and grant you another 6 months of free play for pain and suffering!

Well...I am anti droid handler class...here is my constructive part of my post.
make it so anyone can use a lvl 10 droid...put lvl 20's in the novice tree's lvl 30's in the master novice tree's...put lvl 40's in the elite tree's and lvl 50's in the master elite box...this is rough figures...but you get the idea.

How can you feel sorry for them? They are a crafting class. They will be making BANK off of Droid Handlers if this go through. Unlike Architects and houses, they will have a constant stream of customers. You can't make them an uber combat class and the most lucrative class in the game, it simply isn't balanced.
Pardon me Mr. Troll. Could you please go back to where ever it is you came from. Us grown-ups are trying to have a serious discussion.
Never have DEs suggested that they be they only class that can use combat droids. In the list of things we want, it rates just above what the devs have decided we really wanted. As for "making BANK", how exactly will we be doing that with only one class buying our stuff?

I'm not trolling at all, but giving everyone powerful tanks really won't balance the game at all either. Why do you think they limited faction perks to just faction targets.
How will you be making bank? Because unlike CHs, DHs will have to buy EVERYTHING from DEs. And unless you've been playing another game, pet classes are extremely popular. They let you solo things you otherwise couldn't. Trust me, you will be making a ton of money.

I was a master CH for months...I dropped everybit of it...I can tank better than my pet...I use throw away probot for distraction now only (that is what I was using pets for).... more and more people are dropping CH...it is not as popular as it was...
If I had to guess I would guess you are a CH or BE...right?
You have no right to question other peoples' sympathy for a profession don't understand and have never tried yourself. It's on thing to debate DH v. DE. Its another thing entirely to cast in to doubt kind words spoken by others. You're being a real jerk and I am pretty much sick of it. Go back in your hole and leave us alone.

Yes but while your field will slowly stagnates theirs can only profit from a droid handler class. They will have a steady clientel. Sure they have had a dismal past, but instead of just making lots of money, probably more than any other artisan class, they want to be uber tank controllers as well.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
omfg!! I can't beleave someone really thinks DE's make more money then.. um Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths. How did a person this dumb ever figure out how to turn on their PC?
You know...this situation has really gotten way out of hand. I have been following this DE debacle since beta and it is quite frankly atrocious. First of all I'm not even a Droid Engineer and the fact that I feel compelled to post this says volumes. The way such a staple of the Star Wars mythos has been shafted is a breach of vision and in my opinion a breach of the Star Wars license. There should be droids everywhere. As the owner of a successful mining corporation and a Master Merchant I should be employing a fleet of binary load lifters to retrieve my resources. I should not be able to carry millions upon millions of units in raw materials in my backpack! Currently the only thing I use a load lifter for is for decoration...it certainly isn't lifting any loads!
Droids form the backbone of the manual labor force in the Star Wars universe for one simple reason: Anyone who can afford them can use them. Droids are designed to be straightforward. You don't need to be a "droid handler" to make use of a droid...regardless of any pseudo game mechanic. If you buy a gun you must learn to fire it accurately and with a steady hand. You must personally train yourself to use the weapon...buying a droid changes all that. Combat droids come preprogrammed with all the heuristics necessary to shoot accurately, gauge distance, and fight tactically to varying degrees. No special training or handling necessary other than, "Hey…shoot that over there!" Furthermore any engineer capable of designing a droid should know it's functions inside and out.
As for trying to make it like BE/CH, the droid engineer community seems to think that this is a terrible idea and I for one agree. Droids, by there very nature, are nothing like cloned pets. Sure they are both "crafted" but droids, again, come preprogrammed animals do not. That's why you need some guy willing to spend time teaching this new animal all the tricks and commands needed to coerce the creature to do it's master's bidding. Droids do not need to be trained. Again for clarity: Droids do not need to be trained. They have a task and a design given to them by the Droid Engineer and that's it, end of story. This nonsense of implementing a "Droid Handler" is frankly a terrible excuse for an improvement with absolutely no basis whatsoever.
While my comments are rather scathing and in cases hostile I hope you will forgive me. I have many friends in game who have taken the DE path...reading this latest news is just terribly frustrating. I strongly urge the devs to actually realize the vast potential the class has as a whole. If this means in the short term some sort of certification system then fine. What is NOT needed is an entirely new class that shouts commands any fool who could read the droid's operating manual would know without any special training.
I fully sympathize with your group's plight and I only hope that you are all paid the attention you deserve before you dwindle in disgust.
Sincerely,
To'Bosh
Bosh Mining Consortium (Kettemoor)
Before I got into beta I had really really really wanted to be a Droid Engineer. After understanding all you could do was make mobile crafting stations, portable wound healing, and a combat droid that I have to have 3 of to be of any use, I sadly gave up on that idea and chose another path. I am sad to see another hit to it again. I don't know how you guys can keep going on as a DE with so much waiting and nerfing of any good things (when probots were awesome, and the extra mission holding data droids).
I wish the devs would add in a secondary skill pool. One in which you would have a limited amount of points to spend on general skills such as languages, 1 or 2 droid handling levels, and maybe a few new "basic" skills. This secondary skill point pool would have no impact on your main skill points and would be a totally seprate thing.

Excuse me but I'm talking about the past but the future of droid engineers. Don't flame me without getting your facts straight. Droid engineers DO NOT make money now, but they have great potential to make heaps of money in the future, especially if they can sell 100k droidekas as opposed to 10k probots.
This has got to be the meanest community.
