I've been saying Jan/Feb but tell them it'll be more like Feb before we see any combat droids. Ive learned from the past and am taking the glass is half empty route.

However now that I think of it, Ive been saying "they say soon, but we'll see" since....crap since Holocron (Maybe Q?) said "in the near future". That was months ago.

Rho,

I always caution my clients that changes are NOT within our pervue to know, apparently. I warn that any/all things I might can (and might) change.

If you put out the standard disclaimer to this fact, most of them know what that means.

I always tell people Late February before battle droids are released. I tell them that I nor any DE have any control over SOE so it could be even longer.

Oh, don't get me wrong... I ALWAYS use a disclaimer.

I have several who are chomping at the bit. A couple of them sent me emails out of the blue trying to order one of each of the new droids whenever they come out. I told them I expected that to be some time over the summer... which barely got their attention.

It's difficult to manage expectations, though. Not everyone is as used to being neglected on the back burner as we Droid Engineers are. My customers expect new droids in Jan/Feb even though I keep telling them it'll be March at the earliest.

Eh ah. I say that stuff may come out, but I try and make it a point to only promise what I can come through with. I have no qualms passing gossip, but pre-selling is too dangerous for my tastes. Therefore I've kept everything vague or uncertain when they asked.

Well, I've lost a few "instant" sales of Probot/combat droids because I told them that newer, stronger combat models were coming "soon" but I hope they didn't think it would be "soon", ya know? :->

There is "soon" and SWG "soon", after all.

As we have all seen.

Having said that, I'll be honest and*raisehand*. I've told them also that "we" expected decent upgrades in the Jan pubish and some killer droids in Feb. <sigh>
