Thread: Item Storage Modules..
My question is this.. Are item storage modules suppose to be so low in the number if Items stored? Also, if they are, then why does stacking 5 Level 4 modules in an Advanced R2 unit only net 10 slots? If the Level 4 is 6 on it's own, then 6x5=30?? Unless my schools were really messed up, then I should have 30 items?
Please tell me that such small numbers in modules is a bug!

No real arguement there.. Except for this.. You have a 100 item bank box.. but you only have 60 you can store on you. 10 on a droid. If your bank is full, how do you move banks?
Now you could have a backpack, but that's probably full or close to it with the stuff you normally carry on you.. So... A droid with 50 or 60 items should be possible..
That SHOULD be the use for a Binary Load Lifter, it would be perfect. Allow the BLL to carry 50 (100 for the advanced) items. There'd be at least some reason to buy/make that droid.

By the way, can anyone in here come up with a good idea for the load lifter?
RenObiOne, I agree that all droids shouldn't be able to do the same thing, but I think a good solution is an idea I've posted many times (actually a couple):
Any droid can hold any module, however, higher level droids are better with those modules: I.E. An MSE with a level 1 storage mod should hold 1 item, whereas the R5 with a level 1 storage mod should hold 2, and so on up the ladder. Have simular functions for the medical modules, data storage modules, and crafting station modules.
Give certain droids specific, unique inherent functions:
Surgical Droid can heal wounds when equipped with stimpacks (or maybe just white bar, or something)
Power Droids can obviously power. Maybe add power to harvestors, or to other droids.
Repair Droids can repair other droids, or other items, such as weapons and armor and stuff.
Protocol Droids should act as mini vendors that anyone can use, maybe 5 item max, but you can have it wandering around the city.
Binary Load Lifterscan maybe carry a lot and a lot of items (maybe make it to where the smaller droids can only hold certain size items, and a Binary Load Lifter can hold any size items), and also maybe make it so you can set up a Load Lifter up at one of your harvesters, and it will automatically put any resources into your inventory (maybe patrol to the harvestors, and whatever is in the hopper automatically gets loaded into your inventory, since a droid walking clear across the planet could be a little... well, unlikley).
Also, give certain droids certain bonuses with certain modules. No droid will get penalties for using certain mods, but for example, a Treadwell Droid will get extra bonuses for having a crafting station installed, R-series droids can get bonuses to data storage, Binary Load Lifters get bonuses to item storage modules, DZ70's, Probots, and any other combat droids implemented in the game can give bonuses to armor modules.
I think that will give the higher level droids some worth, so that people will want to buy R3's over MSE's for more than just the looks because the R3 will have better mod stats than the MSE. That will give the droids some uniqueness based on the bonuses they could get, as opposed to each module being equally effective in any type of droid, but still not be to destrimental to the customization. I mean, I think it would be kinda lame to see every crafting station droid as a Treadwell (I currently have it as a Treadwell, because for RP purposes, it looks like a droid that could actually assemble the items for me), however, I think it would be good to give it some bonuses to that kinda stuff.
Those are just a couple of ideas that I have come up with to enhance droid effectiveness, but leave open the customization market, so if someone wants a DZ70 that can allow them to heal wounds, they can, even if it might not be as good as a Surgical that can heal wounds.

The storage modules are very small because if they were still 20-item storage units, then you'd effectively be able to make five mousedroid backpacks that lived in your datapad and took up no space in your inventory. The ability to nest pets in pets would have made this even worse (imagine one data droid containing 50 mouse droids each with 20 items of storage). They're trying to limit the amount of free storage people get, just due to database concerns.
I understand this to some degree.... But to limit the amount of free storage people get just due to database concerns is to make these modules practically useless..

Heh. Preaching to the choir here, Sabien. I was just explaining it. ;-)
I hope you didn't take that wrong.. I just don't understand the 10 limit.. Heck they shouldn't allow you to stack the modules then if that's the case.. Oh well.. No offense Kitsunetsuki..
