Working on getting Expert Blueprints and was wondering if someone would let me know what I need to build a probot, trying to plan ahead a little bit. I also heard that you need an Advanced Droid Motive System, can this be made at a public station with Weapon - Droid crafting tool or only on a private station?

Thanks

Assuming steel as generic metal andsiliclastic ore as low-grade ore:

263 steel

73 chemicals

120 extrusive ore

42 copper

35 inert gas

34 siliclastic ore

29 polymer

And the advanced motive system needs a private crafting station. I think a droid with the weaponcrafting mod functions as a private crafting station for droids, so that's a cheap way to get one without having to know an architect =)

Does anyone know how to rename a probot? I have bought one from someone that already had a name? Also can you get any XP when you have a probot? Is it best to group with one or not?

Reprogram it. Click on the droid go to Program and choose a command. Type in 'name you want to be called' 'alias you want the command to be' ( without single quotes). Ex. Fluffy follow me. For follow me. After re programing 4 or 5 commands with the name you want the probot will be renamed.

I start at 15k and increase the price depending on the armor module installed. But it varies fromgalaxy to galaxyand planet to planet.

Everyone mentions using a probot when soloing with a Rifleman.

1) Can only a specific profession use a probot, or can anyone buy from a droid engineer?

2) I didn't believe there was a group bonus, how much of a bonus do you get with a probot in group?

2) Ifyou used the probot as a "tank" fighiting langlatch's how long would it last? Or is it better just to let the probot sit on the sidelines?

Thanks,

Pro bots health regen rate is SLOW. Its best to use it on the side. Its generally around a 200-400 boost of XP. And anyone can use it.

OK, I just started as a novice DE today, so I don't know much about droids yet.

It is my understanding that the closest thing we have to a combat droid right now is the probot. In comparison to the CL 10 pets that non-chs will soon be limited to, it has just about average HAM, but with medium armor, and 40% resists, it should be able to take more of a beating. Although it can't be healed DURING a fight.

Where it falls short is attack strength. A CL 10 pet hits for 90-110 while the probot hits for something in the 50s.

I have never used a probot myself, I was wondering if its attack is all ranged, all melee, or a combination of the two. If it is the latter, is there a way to call for the ranged attack on command? One of my other characters is a TKA/DOC. It would sure help stop mobs from running out of unarmed range if you could have your droid shoot at it as it runs away.

Thanks.

Probots have both melee and ranged attacks. There is no way to control which it will use at any given time (and in fact it seems to change on the whim of the droid during combat)
