Thread: More newbie questions
I openened up the Novie DE box this afternoon. I did the calulations. On practice mode 327 mouse droids to open the first skill box. Not too bad. Then I hit 2 critical failures in the first 6 tries. Not a good omen. But, things got better. I do have several questions.
I did make one of the mouse droids just to check it out. Trained it, and named it. Then I noticed. It comes with an attack command, but you can't chnage that command or put a name in front of it. Now I know, no one is going to use a mouse as an combatant, but it just seemed funny.
The second or third time I pulled it out I got a message "your customization has faded completely away." Not sure what this means, as to the best of my knowledge, I never did anything to customize it, other than to name it, and the name still appears to be there.
I may be getting a little bleary eyed, but I looked all through the skill tree, and could not find a place where we get the schematic for a droid crafting module to add to our droids. Is there such a thing, and when do we get it?
Last, what factory to we use? Is it the equipment factory that architects can build at novice?
Thanks all.
Customization--You get a customization tool schematic to color droids (don't know which box). If you had colored your little MSE, when you got that message, the color would have faded completely.
Weapon, Droid, General crafting module is gained at the first box of the Droid Production skill tree.
Yes, equipment factory is the one ya need.
Hope this helps. ![]()
I see what confused me now.
The food crafting station is called a Food, Droid crafting module. The clothing crafting station is called a Clothing, Droid crafting module. So when I saw the Weapon, Droid crafting moudle, I just thought that was a weapon crating module that was to be installed in a droid. Didn't realize that it worked for droids as well.
Thanks again.
Just keep humming to yoursefl...7 MSEs = 1000+ exp...7 MSEs = 1000+ exp...7 MSEs = 1000+...... /whips out blaster rifle and starts smoking the Furless Vermin!
I remember when I took this same character to novice architect. At the time weapons powerups were giving 4 exp per resource. It still took over 400 powerups to open that novice box. :>![]()
We don't get the advanced droid frames until the second box. Is there nothing in the first box that would be better to use than the mouse droids?
Hi there
couple of real newbie swg questions
1. I was chatting to another player who's title (above their head) showed as novice marksman however when i examined the player they were a master marksman and master bounty hunter with about 20 badges, is there a setting in the game were you can alter the displayed title or is this a bug and should be upgraded as your skills increase ?
2. I am a novice marksman if i want to starting learning another profession can i just go upto a aristan trainer lets say pay up and learn the novice artisan skills ? Just wondered how players start learning other professions may sound daft but i dont think the manual really explains it
look forward to your comments ![]()

If you go to the Ctrl-P menu, you can select your title preference from the personal tab. Any title you qualify for can be selected to be displayed...or none at all, if you choose. For example, I'm a Combat Medic. I can use the title, "Master Combat Medic" under my name if I wish. But, I can also use any title under the medic profession tree as well (I already earned it, being a combat medic). I usually chose "First Responder" (medic title) or "Field Stabilazer" (also medic title), if I don't want to spook the locals. Probably, the Bounty Hunter was trying to remain undercover in that town. No need to advertize who you are and what you can do to the potential enemy.
Your Skills menu, or crtl-S, will show you the titles in each profession, and what level in each proffession box you need to aquire it.

Yes, you can! You have 250 skill points to spend in any way you choose. Most novice skills are 15 points to start, and must be trained by a trainer NPC, and not a player. Playerscan teach you the skills higher than novice later (and if you shop around, they may even pay you for the honor).
Don't worry, you can always surrender skills back to regain skill points to spend elsewhere instantly. But, keep in mind, you will lose the skill you surrendered, along with the XP you made getting it, and the atributes and bonuses that came with it. You'll just get your points back to respend in another skill...
